"Tris?" I stared at him. I don't know why I was so shocked. I knew she was divergent.
"Yeah. I noticed she's been in your final fear. Do you know why?"
I sighed. "Yeah." I told him about the recurring dream I'd had before the aptitude test. "Do you think this has anything to do with what happened when she and I fought?"
He looked nervous. "Yeah. I think it does." He paused. "Before you, Tris was the most divergent person I'd met. That makes you two the most divergent people in existence. Maybe that created a connection between you. Again, I think you should talk to her. I know no more than you do."
With that, he opened the door, motioning for me to leave.

I walked back to the bunk room to talk to Tris. I walked in and saw Alex waiting for me.
"Hey," he said, grabbing my hand. "You okay? You look shaken up."
"Hmm? Oh yeah, I'm fine." I scanned the room until I spotted Tris sitting on her bed talking to Will and Christina. "I just gotta go take care of something really quick."
I pulled away and started to walk towards Tris, when I heard a shout. Tris and her friends jumped up and ran to the source. I looked back at Alex.
"What was that?"
"I don't know, but I'm gonna go see." He took my hand and we ran in the direction of the shouting. We arrived at the edge of the chasm and saw them pulling a body out of the water.
I gasped and stared in shock. It was Al. I spotted Tris just as she realized who it was. She held her hand over her mouth and ran away from the scene. I saw Four follow her.
A few minutes later, she walked out, coming towards me. "Hey. Four told me everything. We need to talk."
I nodded and sqeezed Alex's hand. He looked confused. I can't tell him. I don't want him to worry. And I don't want to put him in danger. I frowned and hugged him. I whispered in his ear, "I'm sorry." I stretched my hand out, not letting go of Alex until I could no longer reach his outstretched fingers. I walked away, following Tris, without looking back.
