James' POV
We took off running and Ana ran behind a building. We paused for a minute, then poked our heads out and fired a few shots. I looked out and there was no longer anyone chasing us. I breathed a sigh of relief.
We started walking again and I looked at Ara. Gosh, she was beautiful. I loved her so much. But she didn't feel the same way about me, I knew that. By keeping my distance I think I'm doing both of us a favor. But it hurts so much to see her with Luke. I just wanted her to be happy, and if she's that with Luke then that's okay.

Anastasia's POV
We had been walking a while when we came across Tris and a few other people.
"Where you headed?"
"Dauntless. We're going to shut down the simuation."
I looked at Tris. "We were just doing the same. We want to help."
Tris put her hand on my shoulder. "We don't need any more divergents in danger. Jeanine will kill you upon sight. No, you need to stay here and tend to the wounded, and try not to get yourself killed by a dauntless under the simulation."
As much as I hated not helping, I knew there was no arguing with Tris. I nodded relctantly, and she smiled. She pulled me into a hug.
"Thank you. For being my friend."
She pulled away and I watched as she and her group ran towards the train.

We started walking in the opposite direction. There were bodies everywhere, Dauntless and Abnegation alike. I couldn't take this- I was too squeamish. I ran behind a building and threw up. Ara rubbed my back.
"It's okay."
I sobbed. "Alex could be one of these bodies." I stood up straight. "We have to find him."
"Yeah. Alright. Let's go."
I held her hand as we continued walking. Then we saw something that stopped us dead in our tracks.

Arabella's POV (sorry for three POV's in one chapter)
The familar brown hair, muscular tatooed arms, the beatiful brown eyes, the voice.
"Ara." I gasped. It was Luke.
I ran towards him and tried to find the wound. Tears started to fall down my cheeks. "It's okay. You're gonna be okay." I couldn't lose Luke. No.
I found the gunshot wound in his side. I took off my jacket and wrapped it around his waist.
"Ara."
"No, baby, save your breath. You're gonna be okay." I was sobbing.
"Ara, let me speak." I looked at him, tears streaming down my face. He laid his hand on my cheek and began running his thumb back and forth. He was crying. "I have to go, Ara. Take care of yourself. I love you."
He kissed me long and hard, and then his body went limp in my arms.
"No. No! No, no, no, no, no!" I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him close, rocking back and forth, crying big, ugly sobs. Why did he have to die?
I felt arms wrap around me and I smelled his familar scent. James. I let go of Luke and I sobbed into James' shirt, and he stroked my hair.
"Shh, it's okay. It's alright." We stayed like that for a while, me crying on James, him comforting me.
And then we heard screaming.
