VALENTINA'S POV:I combed a hand through my hair and looked down. It's one in the morning, and I'm outside sitting by the pool. My thoughts have been all over the place, so I couldn't fall asleep. I knew that apologizing was something I needed to do, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. What happened wasn't a mistake. That kiss wasn't a mistake. However, I was afraid of rejection. Valerie is perfect in everyone's eyes, including mine, and maybe I do have feelings for her. I'm just scared of what the outcome would be if I were to ever tell her that.
"What're you doing out here so late?"
I lifted my head and came in immediate contact with Alex. Her dark hair was thrown in a ponytail, and she wore a black sports bra accompanied with black sweatpants.
"Just thinking." I twisted my lips with my fingers.
"About Valerie?" she raised an eyebrow, a small chuckle leaving her lips.
I was going to deny what she said, but decided against it.
"Yeah." I mumbled, a sigh following afterwards.
She hummed and sat down beside me.
"What is it that you're thinking, dear sister?"
"Everything that happened that night." I replied while laughing at her choice of words.
"Was it really a mistake?" her head turned in my direction as she asked the question.
I thought about her question. Was it a mistake?
Definitely not. I had already came to terms with that. The way I felt when our lips both connected and retracted, left me wanting more. I wanted more.
"Nope." I answered.
"Yeah, I figured. Honestly, I'm all for it." she shrugged.
A glare was sent her way.
She laughed, "Okay in all seriousness, I think that you should tell her how you feel. You've been going on about how it probably meant nothing to Valerie, yet you haven't talked to her about the situation. If she stormed off the way you say she did maybe what happened meant more to her than you think."
I didn't even think of that. Valerie did seem upset when I ran away and said the kiss was a mistake. Is it possible that she felt the same way I did? I guess I'll find out soon enough.
"I hate it when you're right."
Alex smirked, "I'm always right."
"That's not true." I laughed.
She rolled her eyes, "Whatever. We have school in a few hours, and I'm tired so get your ass up."
"Sir, yes sir." I saluted and stood up.
We both let out a small laugh before walking inside. When we entered the house something banging against the wall followed by moans was heard from our parents room. I side-eyed Alex only to find her doing the same.
Her mouth opened, "Mo—!"
I slapped my hand over her mouth and went for the stairs. The noises stopped and a door opened. We tripped over a few steps before we finally made it up without being caught. I think. I sped to my room and hopped in bed, shutting my eyes.
