SINCLAIR RESIDENCE
𝟷𝟶:𝟻𝟹ᴀᴍ

The Sinclair Residence was quiet the morning after New Year's Eve.

Adelaide and Kali lied tangled in each other's limbs as they slept in. When they had made it home last night from their planned date, neither of the twins were home. The couple didn't think much about it, so they made their way into their bedroom where they would enjoy the time that they had alone before falling asleep.

Even then, when the time was nearing nearly eleven in the morning, it was odd that the married couple was getting to sleep late without interruptions.

There weren't any chaotic noises as the twins argued about stupid causes, the sound of Alex aggressively shouting at, who she referred to as 'randos', as she played on her console, neither of the girls' friends were horribly whispering to themselves as they planned pranks to do on another.

Nothing.

Not one single noise except for the light snoring of Kali.

Adelaide had woken up only a few minutes ago, eyebrows furrowed as she looked around her and Kali's room in confusion.

She was waiting.

Waiting for one of the twins to come stomping down the stairs to complain about something that the other was doing.

Waiting to hear knocks from the front door just before noise erupted from the living area.

Of course, both Valentina and Alex had recently gotten into relationships- as their parents knew- but it was rare for them to be away from home so late.

On New Years.

Adelaide sat up from her wife's embrace and looked down at her before smacking her on the cheek.

Hard.

Kali's peaceful state was interrupted, and she would've been pissed if she wasn't familiar with her surroundings. Her eyes were squeezed tightly and one of her hands reached up to her face.

"Why would you do that?" she whimpered, opening her eyes to glare.

Adelaide slipped out of bed and threw one of the gray eyed woman's shirts over her head, "It's too quiet."

The taller of the two groaned and pulled the covers closer to her body, "Principessa, come lie back down."

"You're not li-"

Three firm knocks came from the front door.

And that put both of them on very high alert.

Kali's eyes were quick to open again as she watched Adelaide pull a gun from their nightstand. She wasted little to no time to stand behind her wife and wrap her arms around her, stuffing her head in her neck.

No matter how long ago Adelaide's assassinating days were over, she always stayed vigilant. Always. It was the way she was raised, so it was a hard habit of hers to break.

"Put the gun away, so we can answer the door like normal people, baby."

Normal.
