You three continue to walk to reach Court Orlok office. Noe looked at you in confusion, "This is where we'll find the Count?" he questioned. "That's right.." you said, looking around not carrying about there conversation. "After the old war...vampire were forbidden to drink human blood, and most of them disappeared beyond the border. Even so, many vampires still live in the human world." Vanitas explained walking in front of you and Noe.
Vanitas reached out to open one of the glass doors leading to a large, spiral staircase, "There is one appointed by the queen, to keep a watchful eye on vampire activities here in Paris and to preserve the balance between the human and vampire world."
"That's this man,-" Vanitas smiled, wide open the door. "Lord of the other world...Count Parks Orlok." You stop looking around, as you felt a presence surge to the three of you, you smiled slightly. Noe saw your blurry figure come rushed forward, pushing Vanitas away putting him behind you next to Noe, you raised your hands to grasp at the two wrists bringing there nail to the air. They flinch in respond, "Is this how you welcome invited guests?" you asked as you glare the girl slightly widened but still have a smile on your lip.
"Silence, I'll-mannered fools who do not mock are no better than trespasser." the maid said, returned a glare and try to point her nails to you, making you tightened your grasp on there hand, making them yelp in pain. Your pastel pink eyes turn to rich red, your eyes we're slightly open. Making the two maid sweat in fear, there feet feel numb they want to back away but can't.
Before you speak, The count lifted his hand. You instantly remove your hands to their hands, as they back away holding there hands trying to ignore the pain. Your eyes turn to normal pastel pink. Noe on the other side was shock at your fast reaction, he didn't see them in time as soon Vanitas open them, but was makes him a bit concern is that the face of the two maid and butler made, he really think what you did to them makes him curious.
You sigh at Vanitas's then hit his head from being disrespectful, "Oof-"
"You shall not fight with this young lady, if you do...your lives will be over just with her bare hands." he sweat drop from his forehead as he look at you, you closed eye-smile at his compliment then walk inside his office. He turned his attention to Vanitas, his scarred face producing a hardening expression.
"So you're the human who has assumed the name 'vanitas'" his eyes narrowed at Vanitas who smirked.
He dropped a envelope to his desk, sighing underneath his breath, "I've heard much about this, 'human called himself a vampire doctor.' They tell me, you seek out and make contract with curse-bearing vampires."
You looked around the room until eyes landed on a fluffy white cat with miss-matched pink and blue eyes and a big purple ribbon. 'Wah! the fluffy cat!' Noe rushed past you and to the cat that stood beside his belongings. "Murr! I'm so glad you're okay-!" he cheered happily with his arms outstretched to pick his cat. The cat more like slapped Noe. The grumpy cat jumped from his arms and go towards you, your eyes began to sparkle. You've been wanting to pet the cat, you squat your arms outstretched to pick the cat into your arms. "Cute~" you muttered as you comb his fur.
"Your possessions." you heard the butler speak up. You looked to the red couch that was on the side of the room, as just he said, your mask and dagger that you keep hidden from your dress, your things was beside Vanitas's possessions. A sigh in relief left in your lips as you walk towards the couch with Murr in your hands. You set the cat down on the floor to return to Noe then sat on the couch before returning your weapons and accessory to their rightful spot.
Vanitas stared down at his pile of belongings, quickly noticing a missing piece. "Something seems to be missing." he comment, he clearly referring to the book. "Count! let's stop beating around the bush, shall we? The culprit behind the serial murders hasn't been caught yet, have they? You can't really have time to waste on me."
"What about the rest? I'll get to the point." Vanitas spoke, as he slumber down next to you on the couch. "Hand over the Book of Vanitas and Amelia Ruth, I want them back. I still have question to ask her. I'll thank you not to take liberties with my former patient." he said side-eyed the count.
"Mademoiselle Amelia is fine now, so-" Noe questioned but was interrupted. "There's no need to worry. It has been decided that we will take responsibility and dispose of that vampire. We cannot allow curse-bearers to live. Once the bourreau arrives, the formalities wil-"
"Please, count don't! Mademoiselle Amelia should be cured!" Noe said turned his body to the count in distress. He knew from the moment he saw Amelia's tears of joy that she's been saved from her suffering. "You mean by this book?" The count held up The book of Vanitas, its chains tightly wrapped around it's form. The count eyes harden at the man in front of him.
"That's right! I saw him restore Mlle Amelia with his power of The Book of Vanitas! S-"
"Balderdash!!" The count slammed his fist onto his desk, as everyone stopped in their tracks as he slam his fist. Orlok glared at Noe with heated hatred burning to his eyes. "Do you take that man's nonsense seriously!? Cursed grimoires do not exists! this thing is mere rubbish!"
You almost snap about to stand, but was interrupted by Vanitas who let out a loud, rambunctious laugh as he titled his head back feeling humored by the man's accusations, he was holding your hands to stop you from standing he know, making you stumble on the couch.
"Precisely! while you have it, it's mere rubbish...I, it's owner I am the only one who can even open the book you see! Miku dear also know, she know who can open it and that's me!" He announced, "I expect I was summoned because you managed to steal the book but didn't know how to use it. Couldn't you just say, 'please teach me how to use the book?' "
"Beside.." He teasingly said, as he put his hand to your white and pink hair leaning his face behind your ear kissing it slowly making your ears hot and red but your face is normal, but Vanitas saw it, a smirk crawling to his face. "If what I was saying just rubbish, what sort of explanation do you have for Miku's loyalty to me? certainly, with her presence, you should believe in what I have to say."
The count let out a sigh, as he look at your blank figure who is beside Vanitas, letting the man deliver her a one last kiss but on the cheek making you slightly blush at what his doing. He sigh once more, "You've spoken with Amelia, haven't you? It should have been perfectly obvious that she was in the right mind."
"She merely happened to be calm." Vanitas said snapped back, leaning his head against his palm as he crossed his legs.
"I don't know what trickery you used, but she's sure to turn violent again soon."
"Are you that reluctant to admit that the book of Vanitas exists?!"
"Upon discovery curse-bearers must be isolated and beheaded by a bourreau. That has been our way since old days! Listen human!" The count said raising his voice, tightening his fist to a ball.
"Its impossible for a vampire whose true name has been defiled to return to normal."
"Hah! This exactly the problem with senile old fools who chain themselves to past conventions and stop thinking!"
Before anyone could make another word, Noe slam his foot and sword into the table, sending it flying to the room. You where slightly shock, it was a great timing for you to pull Vanitas not wanting him to going from the desk, he stumble actually from your grip when you pull him. You looked at Noe's hand and saw The book of Vanitas he held it. 'Hm..when did he...' you thought looking back at Noe's face. "All right.." he cut off the silent, his eyes change to purple to luminous red eyes.
