A Man's World

I know that my words aren't as gracefully sewn as an extravagant piece of jewel-embedded silk.

It's as clear as a fresh-water mountain spring that this ridiculous attempt at writing a pleasant-to-the-ear poem; Isn't going to get very far.

The ink that has spilled all over my fairly blank sheet of parchment twists the words I want to say. Can you really blame my pale face for looking so ill?

My poems cannot even compare to the finest jar of wine in this poorly run bar.

"What a pity that such a beauty like her - has no talent or nack for anything literate."

"What a shame that the gods have brought such a girl onto our earth."

"If the heavens ever forgive her sins - oh, what a day that'll be!"

I know that I was blessed with a gift that'll just go to waste.

It's very obvious that even when the plum trees blossom - I will still look, be, and sound the same.

The voices of nearby villagers and local farmers all say the same thing - But I can't be upset - because It's all true.

My slim hands that write these words are not meant to write, but only to pleasure a man.

Because that's simply what we are made to do.

"Even if such a pearl can't write or read - she'll still do well as a wife!"

"Such a pretty thing all alone? My, my, she's bold. Isn't she?"

"All women are just good for is sewing and providing children! She can't even do anything! What a waste!"

"A woman have no place in a man's world."

Why did the Heavens give us life just to provide pleasure, be pushed around, and give birth?

It's ridiculous!
