She's Not Mine
Short and Sweet
SOME may take my words out of context - or even twist them into something else - but trust me, this is something much different.
...
Her eyes are a molten gold and her hair is a soft brown.
Her lips are pink and plump, glossed over with strawberry chapstick.
So lovely, so beautiful - she's everything I could ever want.
But she's not mine.
And she'll never be.
Her skin is peppered with freckles and her cheeks are flushed.
Her smile is brighter than the sun and she's kinder than a nice summer's day.
So perfect, so wonderful - she's everything I could ever want.
But she's not mine.
She doesn't belong to me - and I don't belong to her.
Her personality is as sweet as nectar from flowers; And is as light as a freshwater spring.
Her voice is not too high and not too low. It's just right - so pleasant to the ear.
But she's not mine and I'm not her's.
She is his and I'm left in the dirt.
I will never be able to hold her in the dark.
I'll never see her wake up next to me.
Because he is her's and she is his.
I knew this would never work but I wanted it to.
I knew just how you'd be.
But is it too much to ask you - just for one kiss?
Yes. Yes it is - because I'm not a man.
I knew just how'd this end.
She's not mine - and I'm not her's.
