This is part 3 of normal, so go check out the previous parts if you haven't already!

This was also an impulse, and I haven't planned much of it, so I'm sorry-

Virgil was happy with his new normal. It had been 6 years since he got married to Roman, and 8 years since his divorce from Logan. Everything was perfect now. Roman and Virgil had adopted their two children, as well as the newest addition to the household - a small black kitten named Katniss. Virgil was still working at the cafe, he had taken a liking to the job and it was one of the friendliest places he had worked in. Roman was working for a nearby theatre, where he was allowed to live his dream and become an actor.

The two were happy with their little family, and nothing could go wrong.

It was the last few hours of Virgil's shift when that statement proved to be wrong.

The bell signifying a customer entering is what caused Virgil to look up, smiling at the man who had walked in and asking for his order. The interaction was normal, the man ordered a regular black coffee and a small slice of carrot cake - it was normal until Virgil asked for the customer's name as he got the slice of cake.

"Logan, Logan Berry."

Virgil's head shot up faster than a rocket, looking up at the man with wide eyes.

"Hello Virgil," Logan said, a playful yet gentle smile on his face.

"L-Loga- Logan- What are you- how- what?" Virgil stammered, dropping the small plate he was holding for the cake and causing it to smash to the ground.

"I thought you would be happy to see me..." Logan looked down Virgil, slowly eyeing the ring on his finger. "You're married to someone else." He stated. All Virgil could do was nod as he stared at the man in front of him, the same man that made him feel unloved for so many years. "I see..." Logan started, "You do know that technically we are still together, right?" He said, tapping his fingers on the counter and leaning closer.

"N-No... I sent the papers, y-you signed them," Virgil stuttered, backing up slightly.

"Technically yes, but I'm sure you don't actually love whoever it is you're married to, we both know you and I are meant to be... together forever, isn't that what you used to say?"

"You- You need to leave... Logan," Virgil whispered, voice wavering "Please..."

"No, I don't think I will, I'd like to talk to you more," Logan persisted. He had grabbed hold of Virgil's hand now, not allowing the emo to back up any further.

Virgil started to panic, he didn't like Logan touching him, and he didn't like Logan talking to him, he just wanted him to leave and never come back. Eyes glancing at their connected hands, Virgil's breathing became uneven as he felt himself spiralling, rooted on the spot with Logan's eyes piercing his own. Logan continued

Through their conversation, a small line had built up behind Logan, and now people were starting to get agitated. After hearing the noise of the annoyed customers, Remy walked through from the back room, taking one glance at Virgil before quickly walking over. Virgil was struggling now, trying to pull his hand out of Logans hold with tears brimming his eyes.

"Sir, i'd appreciate it if you let go of my co-worker and left," Remy said in a strict tone, causing Logan to finally let go of Virgil and step back.

"Fine, whatever, but I won't ever coming back here." And with that Logan left the cafe, ignoring the muttered 'good' from Remy.

Virgil didn't think before running to the backroom, trying to stop the flood of tears that threatened to spill. He shakily pulled out his phone and found Romans contact, before hitting call and holding his phone to his hear. He paced for a few moments before Romans calming voice flowed through his speaker.

"Hey mi amor, everything okay?" He asked, confused as to why Virgil was calling him during his shift.

"R-Ro- He- Can you- Cafe- please-" Virgil said through sobs, sentence becoming broken, but Roman knew what he meant.

"Okay love, I'll be right there, deep breaths for me okay?" Roman put down whatever he was working on and grabbed his bag, running out of the theatre and out to the parking lot. Virgil's crying could be heard through his phone as he sped down the road, phone on speaker, trying to get to his beloved as soon as possible. "Remember what we practised Virge... in for 4, hold for 7, out for 8, can you do that for me, baby?"

Once Roman had arrived at the cafe, Virgil had calmed down slightly, he walked through the front door, looking at Remy who gestured to the back room with his head. Roman walked through to the back room and over to where Virgil was sat in the corner on a chair, hugging his knees. The man picked up his husband and held him close, rubbing his back and whispering small comforts to him. Virgil clung to Roman, shaking slightly as he relaxed into the other's arms. A small sob racked his body as he wrapped his arms around Romans neck, Roman holding his precious emo close.

The two made it home, Virgil shakily explaining what happened on the way. As they entered the house the emo kicked off his shoes and flopped onto the couch, holding his arms up to his husband. Roman sat on the couch, pulling Virgil onto his laps and wrapping his arms around his waist. The emo snuggled into his husband as roman turned on the TV, turning on nightmare before Christmas and holding the other close with Katniss curled up beside them.

"I'll protect you, Mi Amor," Roman said, pressing a kiss to Virgil's temple. "He's never going to touch you again." Virgil smiled softly as he cupped Romans cheek, pressing a short kiss to his lips.

"Thank you, Ro... I love you," He said softly.

"I love you too, so much my love," Roman replied, just as quiet as he ran his fingers through Virgil's hair.

"Also we should... go pick up the kids..." Virgil whispered.

"Oh shoot-"
