Roman shivered. It was po uring with rain outside, and pitch black. Most of the sides where in the living room, having a movie night, but not Roman. He just wasnt in the mood. He had decided to stay in bed, scrolling through social media with his ear buds in, listening to his spotify playlist. There was suddenly a loud crash, accompanied with a bright flash of lightning, and all the lights went off. Roman heard everyone downstairs groaning and exclaiming, as the TV had obviously switched off aswell. Roman sat in the dark, his phone screen dim due to its low power. He was glad to have a bit if light, but he didnt know what he would do if it die- shit... Roman's eyes widened as his phone powered down, leaving him in complete darkness.

Downstairs, everyone complained when the TV switched off. Everyone was frantically trying to find candles and flashlights to add some light to the room. Patton did a head count.
Virgil
Logan
Thomas
Janus
Remus
And of course himself
That was Six people. Wait, six? Didnt Roman come down? "Hey guys? Does anyone know where Roman is? I thought he came down to watch movies with us" The moral side asked. Everyone shook their heads. "I believe he stayed upstairs" Logan said. Remus' eyes suddenly went wide, and he dashed upstairs without another word, ignoring everyone's questioning stares. The Duke ran down the corridor, reaching Romans red glittery door. He opened it quickly.

Roman was curled up on his bed, tears running down his cheeks as he hugged himself tightly. Remus quickly rushed over to the princely side and scooped him into his arms, Roman wrapping his arms around his brothers neck, and legs around his waist. "Shh, shh, it's okay" Remus whispered, holding his brother close. "Its okay RoRo, I shouldn't have left you alone" Roman looked up at Remus, his eyes puffy. "I-its okay Rem, it's not your fault" he said quietly. Remus cupped Roman's cheek, gently wiping his tears away with his thumb.

If you hadn't already guessed, Roman was terrified of the dark, he had always had a fear of it. Remus, being his brother, was the only one who knew of the Princes fear, and Roman intended to keep it that way. He hadn't even planned on telling Remus, but his plans where foiled when all the lights went out one Halloween a few years back, and the Duke had found Roman curled up on his bed, similar to how he had found him now. Roman had hoped that he would grow out of his childish fear, but it only seemed to get worse, even the smallest flicker of darkness would cause him to scream and panic. He didnt want the other sides to find out, they would probably mock him, telling him it was a stupid thing to be scared of.

Roman curled up to his brother, the Duke running his fingers through the prince's hair.  "Thanks Dukey" Remus smiled down at his brother and kissed his forehead. "No problem RoRo, I hate seeing you like this, so I'm not going to leave until either the lights come back, or you go to sleep" Roman nodded, whilst Remus shifting himself to be sitting on the bed, Roman on his lap. The creative trait cuddled up to his brothers chest, listening to Remus' heartbeat. Remus giggled as Roman's breathing slowed, his eyes drooping closed, before snapping open, unable to sleep in the darkness. "One second RoRo, I'll be right back, okay?" Roman nodded as Remus slipped out from underneath him and left the room, leaving his phone on the bedside table, face down and flashlight switched on.

The Duke walked down the stairs, everyone was sat on the floor, candles lit around them as they played board games. Patton looked up from the game, and smiled at Remus. "Everything okay kiddo?" Remus nodded, and looked towards a few of the unlit candles and the box of matches on the table. "You want some candles Remus?" Janus said, also looking up at him. "If you dont mind, yeah" The Duke replied. "Of course! Take as many as you want" Patton said, nodding towards the candles and matches. Remus smiled and took a handful of the candles, picking up the matches in his mouth. "You really shouldnt hold the matches in your mouth Remus, would you like me to help you carry everything" Logan piped up. Remus looked thoughtful for a moment, then nodded, before spitting the matches at Logan. Logan grimaced, but picked up the wet box regardless. "I'll get a new box, you head upstairs, and leave some of the candles here"  he said, Remus quickly putting half of the candles down and racing upstairs.

The Duke entered Roman's room, and placed the candles he had gathered around the room, before sitting on the bed with his brother. Logan entered a few moments later, a few more candles and a dry box of matches in hand. Roman looked up at the logical side, fear in his eyes. "Its okay Princey, I'm not here to judge, just to help" The prince like side nodded, and relaxed into his brothers hold, as Logan placed a few more candles about and started lighting them with the matches. The room started lighting up, the dim, golden glow of the candles creating a yellow hue. Logan smiled at the two, before nodding and exiting the room, leaving the two brothers alone. Roman looked around the room, smiling as he cuddled up to Remus' chest. Remus smiled and kissed the top of his brothers head. "Thank you dukey" the prince said, stifling a yawn. His eyes started to droop as Remus ran his fingers through his brothers hair. Remus smiled, "it's okay Ro, you go to sleep now" he said quietly. Roman nodded and soon drifted into an easy sleep.

Downstairs, Logan had just walked down, after watching the two brothers at the door for a moment. "Hey Logie, are Remus and Ro okay?" Patton chirped. Logan nodded and resumed his place on the floor next to Virgil. "The two brothers are quite alright, Remus wished to give Roman some light due to the power outage." Patton nodded, and they all continued their board game.

The twins were happily cuddled together in Roman's room. The prince and the Duke both asleep. Remus still had his fingers in Roman's hair, and Roman was still leant against Remus' chest, the two creative sides happy and content. The others had finally packed up the board games, due to Logans persistent nagging about their sleep schedules, and had decided to all sleep together in the living room. Logan and Virgil had cuddled together on the couch, and Patton and Janus were sleeping together on a few blankets on the floor, Patton's head on the deceitful sides chest, and Janus' hat covering his eyes slightly. Thomas had decided to go back upstairs to his bedroom, and smiled as he passed the red, glittery door, peeking inside and blowing out a few of the candles, but keeping one lit and making sure there was nothing flammable, before leaving the room and heading back to his own.

I have a major soft spot for this ship, platonic or romantic. Please note that any hate comments will be deleted, that is all.
Also, please read my previous A/N, I dont usually like putting them, but it's sort of important for this book, hope you understand. I will try and keep A/N's to a minimum in future.
Thanks ~💚
