It's been awhile since I've written some proper angst, so here we go.

Human A.U

Third person P.O.V

Virgil pondered about the house, waiting for his husband, Logan, to return home from work. Logan worked in a school, teaching high school students and getting them prepared for their futures. Virgil layed on the couch, one arm underneath his head and the other laying limp on his stomach. It was nearly midnight, and Logan was yet to return home. Virgil sighed, it was normal for him to stay up late,  waiting on his husband, and as much as he tried not to, he soon fell asleep.

The next morning, a Saturday, Virgil was still on the sofa, a blanket lazily draped over him. He sat up slowly and blinked a few times, before rubbing his eyes and stretching. As he stood up, Virgils back was sore, but this was normal. It was normal for him to wait for Logan, and fall asleep on the couch. It was normal for him to wake up in the same place with a blanket on top of him. It was normal for his back to ache all day, and for him to be sleep deprived. It was all normal. Virgil made his way to the kitchen, where he poured himself a cup of coffee and sat on the counter, sipping it as he waited for Logan to come down for breakfast. And, as normal, Logan didn't come down for breakfast, nor lunch, but Virgil still waited, like he always did, in hopes that one day, Logan would stop whatever he was doing, and see his husband.  Today wasnt the day. As it neared dinner time, Virgil sat in the living room, watching TV, he couldnt be bothered to cook them both a meal, Logan wouldnt eat it anyway, he never did. It was normal for him to deny the food Virgil made him, and make something for himself later.

Virgil didnt feel loved anymore, like he once had. Logan was never around, and when they did see eachother, they were arguing, or it was some sort of meeting. Virgil couldnt hold it anymore as he cried, he cried until his eyes where bloodshot and puffy. He didnt want to feel mad or upset, Virgil just wanted Logan. He just wanted his husband to walk down, see him in this state, and hold him close until they both fell asleep. But no matter how much he fantasised, his dreams just wouldnt come true as he wrapped the blanket around him, and curled up on the sofa, allowing the dream realm to consume him.

It was at midnight that Logan finally came downstairs, he walked through to the kitchen and made himself a meal and a coffee, carrying it to the living room. When he saw Virgil on the sofa, a flash of empathy shined in his eyes, but he paid no mind to his husband.  Once feeling eyes on him, Virgil opened his slowly, looking up at Logan sadly. "Hey Lo" he said croakily, but Logan ignored him as he continued to eat. "Alright" Virgil said, and stood up, walking upstairs. At this point, a bed would be great, he could cuddle with Logan, and his back wouldnt hurt in the morning, but Virgil had other ideas. He quickly grabbed a backpack and stuffed it with clothes, also grabbing his tooth brush from the bathroom and a flashlight from his bedside table. Virgil took his backpack downstairs, and started shoving fruit and other foods in it, as well as a bottle of water. Ad he walked into the living room, Logan noticed his bag, and stood up. "Where are you going Virgil?" He asked his husband. "Out" Virgil replied bluntly "but it's one in the morning! You shouldnt go out at this time" Logan argued. Virgil rolled his eyes "I dont know why you care, it's not like we ever talk anymore" Virgil could see Logans hands balling into fists "My work is important Virgil! I cant believe you would blame me for something like that!" As Logan continued to shout at Virgil, the other scanned his eyes over his husband. He scoffed internally when seeing very light hickeys on Logan's neck, almost as if they were made easy to hide. As Virgil continued to look over Logan, his husband stepped forwards and forced his head up by his chin. "Look at me when I'm speak-" "im leaving Logan" a low growl sounded from Logans throat, and Virgil had to step back in fear. "Fine! Leave then!" Logan yelled "that's what I'm doing" virgil retorted and turned away from his husband. Virgil slipped on his black converse and stood with his hand on the door handle "well?!" Logan snapped. Virgil turned his head to look at Logan, tears threatening to spill from his eyes "I love you Logan" he said quietly, before opening the door and stepping out, closing it softly behind him.

Logan P.O.V
"I love you Logan" and then he was gone. As Virgil left, the anger I had previously been displaying turned into sadness, as I sunk to the floor and buried my face in my arms, crying loudly. "I-I love you too Virgil..." I said quietly through my sobs, meaning every word of it. Crying wasnt normal for me, I didnt usually cry, I was always the person to calm down another person who is crying, but never the other way around. We've had arguments before, but Virgil never threatened to leave, that wasnt normal, I just want everything to be normal.

This is shorter than my usual one shots, but that is planned. I want to make a part two, but make it fluffier, so I guess you will have to wait for that. Anyways, thank you for reading, i really appreciate it 😁💚💚
