Kai's view
Susan looked at me, "We will go meet this Queen, but we can't agree fully until then and we hear it from herself. Could you please protect us regardless of our ultimate decision?"
"I will," Echidna promised us, so we left shortly afterwards with her and her top Naga guards. Sue's Lamia friend came too, as she didn't trust the Naga guards fully, and as Lamia she still had a choice to what she did.
Sue and I had small moments to ourselves as she followed the Naga Queen on our trip to the mountains.
"Sorry Kai," she explained to me in one of our times, "but it sounds like it's important that we do this. I know that you don't want to do this, and I really don't want you too, but it sounds like a true prophesy about our future."
I know I snorted in agreement I don't want to do this either, but for Leander and our future I will. Please don't hate me for it.
By the time we got to the mountains we were all tired and unfortunately were again caught off guard by the Jorogumos. Thankfully they recognised Echidna and carried us all, bound by their spider string to Algenie the Queen of the Arachne's.
"Hi Algenie," greeted Echidna to her friend, a beautiful half woman, half spider. Her spider half looking like a black widow.
"Echidna! What are you doing here? Why are you tied up like that? And who are these people with you?" Algenie asked rushing over to unwrap her friend.
"So many questions!" Laughed Echidna.
"Well, do you have answers for me? Or do I have to magic them out of you?" Algenie joked.
"Magic them out," snorted Echidna, "As if you could!"
Algenie grinned, "True! But seriously Echidna, what brings you here?"
"Your prophesy."
"My prophesy?" Algenie's face showed her surprise, "Why that old thing?"
"Don't tell me you're going to ignore it after all this time?" Asked Echidna with concern in her voice.
"Don't worry sis," Algenie pronounced, "That I am still trying to do...but no self-respecting kelpie comes up here, the waters too cold."
"What would you say if I bought you one whose engaged to a girl who is engaged to a prince?" Echidna asked.
"I'd say that was impossible, no Jorogumos or Arachnae is that lucky not even the Queen!" Said Algenie, clear that she did not believe it possible that her fate might even be true.
Echidna smiled triumphantly, "But I have brought you one Algenie. But you must promise not to hurt him or my other guests at all."
"I promise by Aine herself," Algenie, Queen of the Arachnae said, "So, where is he?"
"Well it would help if you unwrap the other guests too you know," Echidna gently chided her.
"Oh right! You lot weave the guests and make them comfortable," instructed Algenie to her closest Arachnae attendants.
In hearing the order, we were all unwoven post haste. Algenie, spotting me, came up close and looked into my eyes, causing me to draw back a little.
"Are you the Kelpie?" she asked, then snorted at her question, "Of course you are! What was I thinking asking such a stupid question. Well kelpie? What's your name and will you help us?"
"That depends," I say, knowing that I had to negotiate with her myself in order to get the same terms as I had with Echidna.
"Oh here it comes!" smirked Echidna.
