A/N Picture above is the closest I could find with regard to how the war looked from above. Is taken from the manga Kingdom.
When we found the Aqrabuamelu it was going on night time. We were not looking for him, but there he was waiting. It was reminiscent of our time with Gee as he had fish cooking and tea boiling in a pot.
"Greetings Susan, Kai, Leander and Coran. Will you do me the honor of joining me tonight in my camp?" he asked us as if he was intruding on us, not the other way around.
"We would be grateful for your hospitality," Coran said, "But how did you know our names?"
"Well, I have met Susan and Kai before, and the God of God's told me your names just now," he said indicating Leander and Coran.
"God of Gods, huh?" Coran puzzled, before continuing on, "Do you think he will see us at the glade Susan and Kai told us of?"
"No, he won't," said the Aqrabuamelu, "You would not be able to handle his presence. None of you would." Seeing our crestfallen looks he continued on, "However, his son Gee, will meet you. Do you remember what I told you last time?"
I started to nod my head but decided to shake it instead, as we could be talking about very different things.
The Aqrabuamelu smiled at me and said, "I told you that if you chose the God of Gods all of you are condemned to live short lives like the humans, you currently are in the fae and you are spared that curse. Should you leave, you will age to the age you are in the real world. This is not so much a problem for you as you are young, but for the old..." he looked directly at Coran then.
Coran caught his look and understood, as his shoulders hunched over as he thought it over. I stayed with him that night and all the nights following as I knew what ever he decided to do, it was the end of the road for us. Kai and Leander were beside us too, Kai more so than Leander as he also was feeling insecure. Of all my husbands, Leander seemed the least affected by the news.
But his bad news did not end there, "I do not know how to tell you this, but the God of Gods really only likes one man to be married to one woman. You are already out of the norm for his ways. I wonder if you choose him how it will affect you. I have never seen a case quite like yours."
"It does not matter," Coran said, "By what you said, if we follow him, we revert to our ages and truest forms. By this reasoning, I will be dead and Kai would be a horse. The decision is what will we choose in this instance. That I do not know."
"Regardless, we will need to go back and try and end this war. It should not matter what we choose, when we started this journey, we thought that the kings and queen of this land was ok with our decision, but clearly it is not the case if an army has been formed to get us back and an army is needed to hold them off."
"It was not the kings and queen that are the problem. It was the queen's friend Cormac. He got drunk and spilled that family secret to his drinking buddies. They got all riled up and in turn stirred others up. It just grew exponentially from there. I think everyone would go home if you went to the ring leaders and defeated them in an one one battle. Did you want to do that first before heading out?"
