I'm not quite familiar with Japanese breakfasts so I... Americanized it.

If only your father could see you now.
He had told you that once you were back in Japan and reunited with your other family, you'd have a roller-coaster life. You should've believed the nut-job, because things certainly weren't going your way.
On the outside it may have appeared that your family was having a quick morning breakfast. The sun's soft rays were beginning to shine through the translucent windows, and even the thought of the mural still painted on your ceiling -in an almost taunting manor- no longer irked you nerves.
Well, that was most likely because other things were on your mind. And it wasn't until you heard Aki's high pitched cry that your facade faded and you slumped down in your seat and an apparent frown was placed on your lips. Your cereal no longer tasted sweet and was rather soggy, and your appetite had seemed to vanish into thin air.
Rei was sitting across from you and based on his sullen expression and sunken face you already knew that after the previous night's events, school would surely be rough today.
"Y/N-chan cheer up!" Matsu yawned as he finished the rest of his scrambled eggs and toast that were made by Hirioshi moments before, and dusted off his preppy school uniform. His curls were light and bouncy and his charismatic attitude was the polar opposite of Mitsu's. "It's okay if you made a mistake and hit Rin-chan, he won't be mad!" At the innocent statement you groaned aloud and snatched your bag from the back of your chair.
Somehow Rin had pissed you off to the point that you hit him directly on his nose, which caused him to have a massive nosebleed.
Of course there's more to the situation, that must be explained.
But you'd rather forget the minor details if possible.
"Matsu shut up, it's to early," Mitsu complained as he slouched in his chair on the verge of falling asleep again. His uniform's collar was standing straight up, and he had obvious bedhead and even his school shoes has rough dirt marks from him playing around in them.
"If you say shut up again I'm telling papa!"
"No you won't!" Mistu screamed back, suddenly alert.
"I will!"
"It's to early..." Rei finally spoke as he moved his glasses slightly, which only reflected the sun's glare into your E/C eyes.
"Okay, Mitsu, Matsu get into the car outside today I have to drop you off at school," Hirioshi descended down the stairs and beckoned the two tiny children towards the door. He had made the twins' breakfast moments before and planned to stay home with Y/M/N and Aki, but forgot that he had to take the boys to school this morning. Matsu had a trembling lip upset at his older half's words as he headed towards the car, while Mitsu just looked pissed off that it was Monday.
"Rei, Y/N walk to school now or you'll be late!" He yelled from the doorway as he finished tying his tie and adjusted his clothing. Slowly you move your younger brothers' plates to the sink along with your bowl and breathed out heavily. The fact that you actually hit someone -let alone made them bleed continuously- was anchoring your mind down. Aki's tiny screams had stopped and your mother's soft snoring had resumed.
At least all was well in their little world.
"We should get going,"
"I made him cry-" Rei mumbled softly. The dark circles underneath his eyes were faint and it showed that he had a restless night.
"J-Just apologize at school?" You suggested to your older brother before he stood up with a frustrated look. As usual he was spiffy in his uniform and every single thing was in place and perfect- except for that fact that the aura surrounding wasn't as studious as usual. "I didn't even know you were gay, let alone having... you know... relations..." you coughed out as you straightened out your skirt and fixed your knee-length socks. Your hair was in a neat ponytail so at least it wasn't in your face.
"You make it sound like I sleep around with multiple- not the point Y/N. The point is, you made... me make, Nagisa cry and go home. "
You stalked towards the doorway and gave him an annoyed frown but kept moving forward. "Don't blame me, I actually though you two were a cute couple, it's not my fault he can't take a hint! Why didn't you chase after him then? Huh?" Your voice lowered to nearly a whispered until you were finally out of the house. There was always a chance your mom was listening, and lurking- even though you could still hear her light snores.
Rei locked the front door and walked behind you but didn't let the conversation die. "He's sensitive about it, the topic I mean. I didn't think that it would logically be wise to chase after him."
"Then tell everyone you're both gay and dating then. Most normal people don't think logically when it comes to their own feelings... they kinda of just go with the flow."
"You should really take your own advice. And, no I can't just tell everyone." Rei said with a monotone voice.
Last night before the "Rin-Matsuoka-is-bleeding" fiasco, Nagisa spoke to Rei and said he wanted to tell everyone in the room about their relationship. They both pulled you aside and Rei had trouble explaining to Nagisa why they should wait. Since you already knew because you barged in on their previous session, they both wanted you to side with them. Nagisa was seemingly more carefree and open whereas Rei enjoyed waiting for the perfect timing and occasion, and since they're both opposites a decision couldn't be made.
Nagisa couldn't take a hint as to why Rei didn't want to reveal anything yet, which led to you blurting "He doesn't want anyone to know yet, so stop."
Now reflecting back on your choice of words you could understand why Nagisa's feelings might have been slightly hurt. You barely knew him at all, but he seemed funny and awfully sweet and you ruined his night with a single phrase.
It only took one sentence...
The day had a light breeze that made you wish you had a decent sweater. Autumn was fast approaching and already the leaves were beginning to change different shades and tints or reds, oranges and yellows and the sidewalks had the occasional fallen leaf. You moved your satchel to your side and pursed your lips.
At least you knew that it wouldn't be awkward between you, Haru and Makoto.
"So why exactly did you hit Rin?" Rei finally questioned after a few moments of silence. "I mean, was it truly necessary? He was most likely just joking I presume,"
"He shouldn't joke and try to kiss me. It's gross and weird,"
"He looked serious to me."
Well you didn't hear what he told me earlier that day.
"Nonetheless I'm happy you both get along."
"I'd say that we simply tolerate each other," you laughed a bit as Rei jokingly nudged your shoulder.
Admittedly Rin wasn't all bad.

This was more of a filler/transitional chapter and the next chapter will take place with Rei and the reader getting to school and etc.
