There stood a cat, alone atop of a cliff, as he stared down at the world that was beneath him. It was a beautiful world, as the cat was not going to lie, as he was happy that he had lived a full and happy life in it. He was a bit sad to think of some of the things that had happened in his life how ever.
He wished that his sister's could have lived a life with him, as 2 of them had died at birth, and 1 of them had died on this same cliff that he was standing on top of at this very moment in time. It hurt him to think back on it, but he knew at the same time too, that his sister was living happy in the after life, as he had got to talk to her several times before.
Then, he had a 4th sister, and that one had hurt them the most, as she had just finished her training with him, and they had gone out on a hunting trip together, now that they were officially old enough to live out on their own. That was when it had all gone bad for him, as often times, the older cat often felt like he was a curse.
They had gone on that hunting trip together, and they had gotten attacked by a pack of wolves in the middle of the day, due to the fact that they had accidentally rolled up on their nest. His sister had saved his life, and gave him a chance to get to safety, whilst he had to watch her get torn apart in front of his eyes.
He had cleared out all of those thoughts of that day for the most of his life, but for some odd reason or another, the other night, he had a dream of some thing that was a bit similar to that, though he could not put all of the pieces together, as to why it was so important to him at this very moment in time.
The cat dipped his head a little bit low to the ground, as he continued to stare down the cliff, out in to the world that was below him, as he felt a gust of wind blow over him at the exact same time too. He was not going to lie, it was starting to get cold, and pretty soon the hunting seasons were going to get rough for the tribe, just like it was nearly every year.
He had seen so many cats get sick, and die at the exact same time too, as that was another thing that was really bad at this time of year. He let out a bit of a sigh at the exact same time too, as he had to figure that was how the world had to work. If there was no cold seasons, than the prey would not be able to repopulate with out them hinting them.
If there was no cold season as well, than the world would be over populated with cats none the less. He let out a bit of a soft sigh, as he knew that there was always a reason, but it did not mean that it was not going to hurt him, as he knew that his sister's had died when their mother had given birth, due to the fact that it was so cold, and their mother was not well.
He had never got to meet his mother, as his mother was weak after giving birth, and he had been told that the season that she had died, was a lot colder than most seasons were, so she could not handle all that had happened to her due to that. It still hurt him that he had not ever got to meet his mother, as his father had told him that she had been an amazing cat.
The only thing that was telling him that he was in fact not cursed, was the fact that he had his father, well, at least for quite a long time, as he too had died, but that was several moons ago at this point, and he had died due to the fact that he was so old. The tom cat was also quite a bit old him self none the less, as he was older than his father had been when his father had passed.
He knew that his time in this world would soon be done, and that some day in the near future, he would have a cat that would soon take over for the role that he had as the leader of his tribe. He never wanted to be the leader, but after the actual leader had died at a young age, before him, the entire tribe for some reason felt that it was best for him to be the new Stoneteller.
He was not all too sure as to why, as it kind of scared him as to the fact that he had to be that, but he was over that at this point, as he had been the Stoneteller for nearly 200 moons at this point. He knew that his time as the Stoneteller was near an end, and he had a new cat to take his place right at this very moment.
That cat that he was thinking of at this very moment, was standing right beside him, as he too was staring out in to the distance, just as the current Stoneteller was doing, as he was staring out in to the world that was in front of him. The young kit was a bit on the more future side, as the young kit too had a bit of a harsh life growing up as well.
The kit had been born with no kin at all, as his mother had died at birth, only able to pull out 1 baby out of her before she passed away, which was of course the kit that was right here with Stoneteller at this very moment in time. His father had died a few moons before he had even been born, kind of the same way that Stoneteller's sister had died a while ago.
Stoneteller knew that his time was coming to an end, and the tribe could not vote on another Stoneteller such as they had to do with him. He found the perfect opportunity in this young kit, even if a lot of the cats were in fact quite a bit surprised, due the fact that the cat was so young.
None of the cats knew what it was that he saw in the kit how ever, as Stoneteller was in fact the oldest cat in the tribe, so none of them knew all of the pain that he had to go through. He in fact had chosen the kit before he even knew how smart the kit was, as he had kind of raised the kit in his little cave of his since the beginning of the young kits life.
The kit followed him around, and Stoneteller was not upset, nor was he annoyed by it at all, as he enjoyed the company of the kit, as it kind of felt like the kit brought some kind of peace to his life, that he had needed for quite a bit of some time now, as it was hard for him to raise such a young tribe full of cats at this point, as they thought they knew better than Stoneteller.
He hoped that some day that they would learn, just perhaps not quite as harsh as the way that Stoneteller had to learn. He had about given up on all of that at this point, as he knew that his time was running out, and he hoped that the young kit could do a better job that he felt like he had.
He let out quite a bit of a sigh all at once, as he did his best to try to shake off all of those thoughts at the exact same time too, as he closed his eyes, and he let out quite a bit of a sigh all at the exact same time too, as he let out all of his energy in to the peaceful world that he had around him at this very moment in time as well.
Stoneteller let the wind fly all over his fur this time, with a smile, as he felt a lot better, knowing that he would soon be able to meet up with his missing family. He felt like nothing could go wrong at this point, of course, he did not want to jinx that at the exact same time too, as he suddenly opened his eyes, and looked back over at the young kit that was with him.
The kit had a bit of a blank look on his face still, as he was staring out in to the world below him all at the exact same time too, as he was not all too sure as to what it was that Stoneteller was staring at, at this very moment in time. Perhaps he was thinking about the cat that he had been seeing in his dreams, that he had been telling him to follow the sun trail to his new home.
It was some kind of omen, or prophecy, and the young kit knew it. He blinked a few times, as he shook off all of those thoughts all at once, at the exact same time as well, as he noticed that Stoneteller was staring right in to his eyes at this very moment. He was a little bit lost, as he wondered if he might have missed some thing.
He shook off all of those thoughts all at once, as he figured that he should not be all too worried about that, as he knew that Stoneteller gave him that look on his face fairly often, so it was no sort of surprise to him that he was doing it once again, as he let out quite a bit of a loud sigh at the same time too.
Stoneteller tilted his head a bit, as he was quite a bit lost. The young kit once again shook off those thoughts, as he then nodded to Stoneteller, to let the old cat know that he was about to speak to him. Stoneteller blinked his eyes just a few times, but in the end, he did in fact nod right back over to him, to let him know that it was safe for him to speak.
The kit was still a little bit lost in his head at this very moment in time, but he figured that he should just go ahead and speak to the old tom cat on it, as he felt like he might get some kind of answers from him. The young kit began to speak to Stoneteller, as the old tom cat began to listen as to what it was that the young kit had to say to him in the very first place any ways.
"Where do you think that cat is that you have been seeing in your dreams? Do you think that he is a good cat?" He said to the old tom cat, as he had a wide look in his eyes, as it was clear that he was looking for answers from Stoneteller, though Stoneteller honestly was not all too sure as to what it was that he should say back to the young kit.
He had not a clue as to where the cat that he had seen was in the first place, as the place that he had seen him at, he had never been at before, nor had he seen where it might be in the end less world that he could see from the cliff that he was standing on top of at this very moment in time too.
For all he knew, he could be on the other side of the world. He could also be on the other side of the mountain that they were on right now none the less as well, as he had never been able to find a place to see what it looked like the other way. He wondered if it was just nothing behind the mountain, though he had doubts on that being truthful at the exact same time too.
That was not the reason that Stoneteller had his head dipped a bit low to the ground how ever, as he was more just worried about the fact on whether or not the cat was in fact a good cat, as it had been on his mind as of late, but he had done his best to ignore that answer to the question that he had been asking him self over the last few days none the less.
He was very afraid that the cat might not be a good cat, and he gulped on the fact that he was going to have to answer that young kit, the question that he had just asked him in the first place, as he did not have an answer to it him self just yet. The old cat shook his head, as he did his best to clear out all of those thoughts, as he knew that he had to look for an answer to it.
It felt like it was impossible for him how ever, as it felt like his mind was drawing quite a bit of a blank, as he was not all too sure as to what it was that he was even thinking in the first place right now any ways, as he was just about to dip his head a little bit low to the ground once again.
Stoneteller did not do so how ever, as he knew that he needed to be strong, as he was older, and a lot wiser, and he had to set a good example for the young kit that the tribe would soon call the leader. He kept his eyes with the kit, as he then all of the sudden nodded to the young kit, to let him know that he was finally ready to answer the question that he had just asked him not all too long ago.
The kit blinked his eyes a few times, as he felt just a little bit lost all at the exact same time too, as just like Stoneteller, he was not all too sure as to just what it was that he was thinking at this very moment in time. He did his best to clear out all of those thoughts all at once how ever, as he got his focus back on Stoneteller, as he remembered the question that he had just asked of him in the first place, as he all of the sudden nodded back to him, interested to hear the answer that he was going to get.
Stoneteller felt it now safe to talk to the young kit, but he was still a bit hesitant, due to the fact that he still was not all too sure as to what it was that he should say back in the first place. Stoneteller let out quite a bit of a rough sigh all at once how ever, as he shook off all of those thoughts, and he then began to speak to him, as the kit listened as to what it was that he had to say back in response to his original question.
"I do not have a clue as to where it is that he is at right now if I am going to be honest with you Eagle..." Stoneteller started off to the young kit with, as it was clear that Eagle, the young kit, was a bit surprised by it as well, as for some reason, he felt like Stoneteller always had the answer to every question that he had ever asked him. Maybe that was due to the fact that Stoneteller was a wise cat. There just was only so much that the old cat knew how ever, as he was still a living cat, and he knew that he should not be all too shocked by the answer that he had gotten, though he could not help but to be a little bit disappointed by it, as for some reason he felt some sort of special bond with that cat, even though he had never met him, nor had he even seen him. Eagle let out quite a bit of a loud sigh all at once, as he did his best to just try to shake off all of the thoughts that were going on through his head, as he then all of the sudden heard Stoneteller begin to continue to speak to him. Eagle blinked his eyes a few times, as for some odd reason or another, he was a little bit shocked as to the fact that he was talking back to him. Eagle shook off all of those thoughts how ever any ways, as he then began to listen as to what it was that Stoneteller had to say to him. "I have to assume that we will meet him some day sooner than later... I also think that the cat is a good cat, as there would be no other reason for me to see him in my dreams... We have never had a cat from the out side world come to the mountains before, so this will not be any thing scary I am sure..."
Stoneteller said it with some authority at the exact same time too, as he felt like he needed to make sure him self, that he actually believed as to what it was that he had said to Eagle in the first place. He felt quite a bit more safe, as he realized that those thoughts that he had come up with off of the top of his head were in fact true. They really never had seen cats come from the out side world.
He had been told that they existed, but a lot of times he wondered if that was in fact true, due to the fact that he had never got to meet one ever. This was going to be his first chance, and if he was going to be honest with him self, he was quite a bit excited about it, as he did his best to hold all of that in at the exact same time as well, as he knew that he had to look like a mature older cat to the young kit that was with him at this very moment in time.
Stoneteller felt a lot more safe with what it was that he had said now, as he then turned his head back behind him at the exact same time too, as he did what it was that he had been doing not too long ago, which was of course the fact that he was staring out in to the open world, as it was in fact the most beautiful thing that he had ever seen he could say with out a doubt.
He was not all too sure as to why other cats did not ever come here to see it, as it was an open place for them to see a beautiful world, and he knew that they all knew about it as well none the less. Stoneteller shook his head at the exact same time too how ever, as he felt like he would never under stand cats that lived a normal life, much unlike the life that he was forced to live in.
Often times he was sad that he did not get to live like them, but then there were times like this where he was happy as to the way that he was living at this very moment in time. Stoneteller had a bit of a smile on his face for once now, as he stared ahead of him, as he looked all around the place. Eagle how ever, did not have his eyes on that at all how ever, as his eyes were focused on Stoneteller still.
He was still thinking on what it was that Stoneteller had said to him in the first place, as he blinked his eyes a few times. He was excited about all of it, but at the same time too, he was kind of a little bit scared, as he had not really ever even gotten to meet all too many of the cats that lived in the tribe that he was in right now, much less a random cat that was not from the tribe at all either.
Eagle gulped a little bit, as he did his best to try to shake off all of those thoughts all at the same time too, as he then blinked just a few times, and he then got his focus back on what it was that he had his mind on in the first place, which was the fact that his world was about to change. He was excited about all of it if he was not going to lie to him self at the same time too.
He stared at Stoneteller for a little bit of some time, as he then let out quite a bit of a loud cough at the exact same time too, so that he was able to get the attention of the cat on to him. Stoneteller did not seem to be paying him any sort of attention at all how ever, as Eagle sighed just a bit of a soft one to him self, as he kind of gave up, and he began to speak up to the old tom cat any ways.
"Well... I hope that he is a good cat... And I hope he is safe right now, and he gets home safe..."
