I was staring at the ground for quite a bit of some time, even if the cat that went by the name of Night was talking to me. I knew that she could tell that I was not listening to her hardly if any at all, but she did not seem to care all that much any ways, as it seemed like she just wanted to get all of this over with as soon as possible.
What was the reason that I was staring at the ground, and not paying all that much attention to what it was that she was saying to me in the first place? I was not sure the answer to my own question if I was going to be honest, as I was not quite sure what it was that was going on with me.
I felt a little bit sick, as I felt alone at the same time. I knew that this was what I wanted to do, and it was not that, that had me so in to my head, but what it really was, was the fact that I kind of felt a little bit alone. Even the two legs, it still felt like they were some form of company, but this entire day, it felt like most of my thoughts were sad thoughts on the fact that I was leaving Ben.
I knew that he would not view it that way, as I was sure that it might have been a bit of a struggle for him to have to come and see me every day, due to the fact that he did not want to let his friends down, but it still hurt me to know that I was leaving just about the only friend that I had ever had, it kind of felt like.
I let out a bit of a sigh at the same time too, as I knew that I should not be thinking on those thoughts at all, as it felt like I had a bright future ahead of me, and I should be excited about all of that, as I was getting to do what it was that I had always wanted to do with my life, which was of course, going to go live out in the wild.
I wondered what it was that I would see out there, and the cats that I would meet, as I was bound to come across a few at some point. I knew that I had been told that all of the cats out there were just a bunch of mean rogues that tried to attack you, but the cats that had all told me that were all kitty pets, and I felt like that could not be true for all of the cats.
I smiled a little bit, as I remember some of the stories that Ben used to tell me about going out there. Now that I began to think back on it, like he had said to me before, I do remember him telling me about how beautiful it was out there a lot more than he had told me that it was scary, but my brain seemed to only want to remember the negative parts at that time.
I shook my head, as I felt like I was wasting a lot of time on the thoughts of me going out in to the wild, rather than me actually going out there to see what it was like for my self. I was right up next to it, and I knew it... I blinked at the same time too, as I remembered just where it was that I was even at in the very first place.
I was so close to the wild! That was indeed right! But at the same time too, I also realized that I did not know how to make it out in the wild. There were not going to be any two legs to feed me once I was out there. I was with a cat that was trying to teach me how to hunt in the first place, and I felt a bit guilty at the same time as well, as I had not been listening to a word that she had been saying to me in the first place.
I blinked a few times, as I shook off all of the thoughts that had been going in my head for quite a bit of some time, as I realized that she was speaking to me all this time, and I had not been paying any sort of attention to what it was that she had been saying to me at all, as I had been a bit dumb, and I had been stuck in my head.
I knew that was a bad idea once I got out in to the wild, as it meant that I would be missing out on a lot of things, and I could miss when it was that I was in danger, or when it was that I was any where near prey. Prey... That felt a bit familiar, and a bit important to me at the moment for some odd reason or another.
I looked at Night, the cat that was in front of me for a bit of some time, as I remembered at the same time as well, the reason why the word prey felt to be so important to me, was the fact that I had heard her, though I had not been paying all that much attention to her at all, as I did remember that she had said the word prey a lot, but I had just missed what it was that she was saying to me.
I looked at her, as she had her eyes squinted at me at the same time too, as I remembered at the same time as well, that she was trying to teach me how to hunt for mice, as there was a bunch of mice around the abandoned two leg nest that we were in right now. Before I had got so lost in my head, I did in fact remember at the very least, that she had shown me how to smell out when I mice was nearby, as they had a different smell than all of the other animals that were in the wild.
That was where it was that we had been at, as I was beginning to remember all of it, as I remembered that she was trying to teach me how to hunt the mice at the same time too, before I had got my self stuck in my head, which once again, I knew it was a bad idea to be like that once I was out in the wild.
I shook my head, as I then lifted my head up high in to the air at the same time as well, so that I could sniff out a bunch of the mice that were all around me in the abandoned two leg nest at the same time as well. I stood there for a few seconds, as it all smelt a bit bland to me at first, but after a little while longer though, I realized that I could smell the mice, as they were all around me, and I could also hear them as well.
I blinked a few times, as I gulped at the same time as well. I had to remember that mice were a lot more rare out in the wild compared to a place such as this one how ever. I shook off all of those thoughts, as I shook my head once again, as it felt like I was doing a lot of that at the current moment.
I had to focus on the cat that had been speaking to me for so long right now, and I knew it. I should be grateful that she had been nice enough to teach me how to hunt in the first place. I looked at her for a bit of some time, as my ears seemed to finally focus in on what it was that she was saying to me in the first place as well, as I did in fact listen to what it was that she had to say to me.
"Alright Kettle... What it is that you must do is, you need to, drop into a crouch and take all your weight into your haunches so that your paws have no impact on the forest floor. Pounce and when you are close enough kill it with one swift bite to the neck." She said to me all at once, as it felt like it was a lot for me to take in all at once, especially due to the fact that I had not been paying any sort of attention to what it was that she had been saying to me in the first place.
I blinked a few times, as I did my best to shake off all of the thoughts that felt like they still wanted to swarm in to my head at the same time too, as I knew that I needed to be focused on the she cat that was speaking to me right now. I gulped a little bit, as I was not so sure as to what it was that was going on with me right now.
I knew that my focus needed to be on the cat that was nice enough to teach me how to hunt, rather than be thinking so much in to detail about all of the things that had happened to me in my past, but for some reason, my actual body did not want to focus in on the cat that I was with at this current moment in time.
I shivered a bit, as I had my head a bit low to the ground, as it was a bit hard for me to lock eyes with the cat that was in front of me right now, due to the fact that I knew my self that I had not heard a word that she had said to me, up to this point in the conversation that she had thought that she had been having with me.
I let out a bit of a soft sigh to my self, as I knew that I needed to wake up, both physically, and mentally. I had got plenty of sleep last night, so I knew that the problem was my mental state, rather than it be the fact that I might just so happen to be tired, and not able to focus on any thing right now.
I blinked a few times, as I finally lifted my head up at the she cat, as I felt like now was my time to speak to her. I did not want her to give up on me, as I did in fact remember that she was teaching me how to hunt in the wild, and I needed that for my future. I looked at the old she cat that was in front of me for a little while longer, until I finally nodded in a response to her, and I then began to speak up to her at the exact same time too.
"Sorry... I am just sad that I am leaving so much behind with me..." I admitted to her, as it felt like I was confessing to her at the same time too, that I had not been paying a single lick of attention to what it was that she had been saying to me in the first place. I looked at the cat at the same time too, as I saw that she just had her eyes squinted at me still, as it did not seem to be that she cared at all as to what it was that I had just said to her in the first place. It just seemed like she felt like she was just simply here to teach me how to hunt, and the rest did not matter to her at all. I realized that this cat was not Ben, and I should not be fessing up to her. I let out a bit of a soft sigh, as I did my best to ignore the fact that she was still staring at me with her eyes squinted, as I then began to speak up to her once again, continuing the bit of conversation that she thought she had been having with me. "Why don't you just show me... I can smell a bunch of mice around us, and I am kind of hungry."
I looked at her for a bit of some time, to make sure that she had heard what it was that I had just said to her in the first place, and that she was not acting the way that I had just been, and not paying any sort of attention to me at all. She seemed to just stare at me with her eyes squinted, just as she had been doing before, as it did not seem like she cared what I had just said.
I felt like that perhaps, she had just given up on me, as I was a bit worried about that too, as she was the best source around to teach me how to hunt in the wild, and I was kind of blowing any sort of chance that I had. I did my best to not dip my head to the ground at the same time too, as I knew that this was one of these moments that I needed to stay strong.
I stood there for a bit of some time, as I then finally squinted my eyes right back at the she cat, as it felt like that was just what I had needed to do, to let her know that I was serious about all of this as well, as she then rolled her eyes in a bit of a mental response to me, since we were not speaking out loud to one another at all right now.
After a bit more time had passed as well, she let out quite a loud sigh meant towards me at the same time too I realized, as she then turned her head around, as if she was about to walk away from me, and just leave me hanging, left out to die and rot in this old two leg nest that I was stuck in with her.
I realized that was not the case how ever, as I saw her turn her head a bit towards me, with a grin on her face, as if she was bragging about some thing to me for some odd reason or another, I tilted my head, as I was a little bit confused as to what was going on in the first place, as all of the sudden I saw her dip her body a bit low to the ground.
I realized as to what it was that she was doing, even if I had not ever seen a cat catch prey before, I realized that she was in a hunting stance, as there must be a mouse nearby her, which I could not smell the exact mouse that she was going after right now, due to the fact that there was a smell of so many mice in this place with us.
I shook my head, as I continued to stare at her for a little bit longer, as it did not seem like she was going to look back at me this time, as it was clear that she had her eyes locked on some thing that was in front of her. I shivered a bit, as I kept my eyes on her, as all of the sudden, it just a flash, she made her move.
I blinked a few times, as I had seen her in that same spot for a while, but just in the blink of an eye, she seemed to all of the sudden disappear, as I was looking around the room, a bit lost as to where it was that she had gone off too. I had never seen a cat accelerate on the pedal that fast, ever before in my life!
What made it even more insane to me, was the fact that this was the oldest cat that I think I might have ever met in my life as well. I moved a little bit slowly around the corner, as I was a bit worried that I was scare a bunch of mice away, perhaps even the mouse that she had been going after.
As I peaked around the corner how ever, I saw that there was a cat, that had her head turned from me at the same time as well. I tilted my head, as I was a bit confused as to what it was that she was doing, as she had her head a bit low to the ground, as she just kept her head turned away from me at the exact same time too.
At first I was worried that some thing might have attacked her, but after a little while longer, the she cat turned her head over to me, as I saw a bit of a grin on the face of the cat, as she had her head held up a bit high at the same time as well, as it seemed to be that she was bragging about some thing to me.
I was a bit lost, as I had not a clue as to what it was that it could be, but after a little while longer how ever, I all of the sudden saw what was in her mouth, as I saw that it was a mouse. My jaw dropped to the ground, as I was not sure as to what it was that I should say to the old cat in the very first place.
I was just so amazed, and so lost as to how she had just done that. I had never seen a cat do that in my life, and what surprised me even more, was the fact that it was a very old cat that I had just seen do that. I felt like I would never be able to do that, but this old she cat had shown me some thing that I felt like I would have never seen from any cat, much less this cat.
The she cat began roll her eyes at me at the exact same time too, as it was clear that she had noticed the fact that my jaw had dropped so low to the ground. I then saw her suddenly begin to walk over to me, as I moved back for some reason, a bit scared that she might use her super powers that she had, to attack me, and try to kill me.
I blinked a few times, as the old she cat began to laugh at bit, even with the mouse that she had in her mouth, after what she had just seen me do, an the fact that I had a bit of a look of some fear in my face. She shook her head, as she kept on walking over to me, as it did not seem like she cared all that much in the first place.
I felt like I should act the same as she was, as I regained my self after just a few moments, and I held my self a bit high, as the old cat had a bit of a grin on her face as she then dropped the mouse right beside me. She sniffed at the mouse at the same time too, as I had heard that you should sniff the prey that you had caught in the wild, to make sure that it would not make you sick if you were to eat it.
It was clear that this she cat knew what it was that she had been doing. It made sense as well, though it still was a bit of a shock to me, as to what it was that I had just seen, but I knew that she was an old cat, and she had lived a long life as well. It was clear to me that she knew what it was that she was doing, as she had been doing it for quite a long time if I had to guess.
I shook my head, as I did my best not too look to surprised, and too shocked for all that much longer, as I closed my mouth, and I then nodded back to the she cat. I stared at the mouse that was in front of me at the exact same time too, as I licked my lips as well, as I was so hungry, and the mouse that I was staring at right now, looked quite a bit delicious to me.
Night looked at me for a little while longer, as she let out a heavy sigh at the same time too. I blinked a few times, but I ignored what it was that she had done, as I kept my eyes on the mouse, as I was just about ready to steal the prey that she had just caught, and run off with it, though just based off of how fast I had seen her go, I was not so sure how far I would get with it.
Night shook her head at me, as if she knew what it was that I had been thinking in the first place, and she had told me know. This cat was a bit of a mystery to me as well, as I felt like I should not be surprised if that was the case in the first place, as I shook my head to shake off all of those thoughts, as I looked back at her.
The old she cat had a bit of a slight grin on her face still, as she moved away from the mouse that was in front of me at the same time as well. I tilted my head, as I was a little bit confused as to what it was that she was doing, and if this might be some sort of test, to see if I was going to try to steal the mouse from her.
I blinked a few times, as I shook off those thoughts that I had been thinking about earlier, as I kept my head tilted at her, as I still was a little bit lost as to what it was that she was doing in the very first place. Night shook her head at me, as finally, after it seemed like I might have passed the test that she had pulled on me, she began to speak up to me. I looked at her in her eyes, as I then listened as to what it was that she had to say to me at the same time too.
"Kettle... Go ahead and eat that mouse, I do not mind, there is plenty of others for me to catch... I can tell that you are hungry... Don't worry... I believe that you were paying attention to me..." She said to me, as she kept the grin on her face for a little while longer, as she rolled her eyes at me at the same time as well. I still was a little bit worried, as I still was not sure if this was some sort of test that she was trying to pull on me still, as I stared at the mouse that was in front of me for a bit of some time. I had heard what it was that she had said in fact, but I was not sure how she had done it though. I blinked a few times, as Night began to speak to me once again, and I turned my head over to her, and I listened to what it was that she had to say to me again. "You get some sleep after that... I need you to be ready for the morning... We are going out going out in to the wild a little bit tomorrow, so that I can teach you how to hunt other animals."
I looked at her for a little while longer, as I began to realize that this was not a test at all, and she actually was offering the mouse that she had caught, over to me. I blinked a few times, as I still was a little bit in some shock, as I was not sure what to do still, as I just kept my eyes locked on her, as I kept a blank look on my face at the same time too.
Night rolled her eyes at me, not for the first time either, as I saw her turn her head away from me, and she began to walk out of the room. I was tempted to stop her, and ask if she wanted to share the mouse with me, as the few times that I had eaten fresh prey, I usually had shared it with the cat that had caught it for me.
I then realized that I could smell prey all around me how ever, and I knew that she could easily catch some more for her self, when ever she so pleased. I let out a bit of a soft sigh to my self at the same time as well, as I saw her begin to walk around the same corner that she had flown past when she had caught that mouse.
It was clear that she was going to get some sleep for her self, as I then began to remember what it was that she had just said to me at the same time too. She had told me, that we were going to go out in to the wild. I was so shocked, as I was not sure if I should be scared, or if I should be excited about the fact as to what it was that we were going to be doing tomorrow.
I had never been out in the wild ever before, and the only teams that I could think of what it might look like, were when I thought back on the blurry dreams that I had some nights. But now, this was my chance to see what it was like, and this was when I could make my decision on whether or not I actually wanted to live out there.
I knew that while, I might not be able to find my way back home, which I still was not sure if that was a good 2nd option in the first place, I did have another choice still, as I had remembered as to the fact that Night had offered to give me away to a shelter where I could get some new two leg owners.
I shook my head, as I shook off all of those thoughts at the same time as well, as I knew that my focus needed to be on the fact that I was going to go out in to the wild for the first time tomorrow, and that I was going to learn how to hunt other animals... Nothing after that seemed to matter to me, as I shook my head and began to eat in to the mouse that Night had caught for me.
I wish that I had caught it my self, but now that I knew how to catch mice, I felt a lot more safe, as I knew that I would have plenty of time to hunt tomorrow. I smiled a bit to my self, as all of the sad thoughts of what I was leaving behind, finally seemed to clear my mind, as I was now thinking of happy thoughts, as to what my future had in store for me.
As I finished the last bite of the delicious mouse that I had been tearing apart, I looked around the two leg nest that I was in for just a few moments, until I saw a safe place that I could lay to rest for the night, that no other animal would be able to get near me if they even tried to.
I smiled a bit, as I then hopped up the top of the wall, and caught my self as I got on top of the not so comfortable spot that I decided I was going to sleep in for the night. I was sure that there was plenty of other places for me to sleep, that would be a lot more comfortable for me to sleep in, but it did not matter at all to me.
I was just so excited for tomorrow, as I could not wait to see what it looked like out in the wild, and not just that, but I also could not wait to see what my future had in store for me at the exact same time too. I closed my eyes, as I kept the smile on my face, as I carried all of those thoughts in to my sleep.
