I snuck around to where the cannons sat tied in place. Damn these knots I thought as I attempted to untie them, the attempt was unsuccessful so I looked around for something sharp. A glass bottle caught my eye, that won't do much good unless I break it. I hit it on the end of a canon as hard as I dared. I then ran over and cut the ropes off, cutting my finger rather deep when I brought the edge back and forth along the rope. I used all my power to roll the cannon back a few inches squeezing through the gap and slipping out into the cold dark abyss without even a splash. The water suffocated me with cold but I didn't stop I carried on swimming until I felt like I could no more. the entrance was only a few feet away so with one last push I pulled myself up onto the side of the cave. I practically sprinted along the rocks, jumping across gaps I eventually made it to where they had the boats tied up. I hid where Will Jack and I had hidden before waiting. Jack stood in front of them and raised his arms saying "All hands to the boats," I was confused, "Apologies, you give the orders," he said again putting his hands together. "Gents, take a walk!" said Barbosa. At this, they all turned around and began to walk off cackling, "Not to the boats?" Jack questioned turning to Barbossa. after the men had left only Jack, Barbossa, Will and 3 others of the pearls crew stayed behind. This was the opportune moment, I climbed away from my hiding place and put on as much confidence as I could after realising my white shirt had gone completely see-through. Even though I had a long coat on over the top, I still felt exposed. I swaggered into the cave with more courage than I knew I had. "You really should trim that beard." I joked, all 6 heads turned my way. "Tie her up with the whelp," Barbossa commanded. "I thought you were staying on the boat," Jack said to me across the cave, "I was staying on the boat until I screamed at Elizabeth and was locked up. Then I escaped!" I said rather proud of myself water dripping down my face. "I'm guessing you swum here then." Jack said, "No shit." I shivered. He walked off to another pile of gold, "I must admit Jack, I thought I had you figured. But it turns out your a hard man to predict," Barbossa started "Oh will you bloody shut it." I mumbled but I was ignored. "Me, I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest." Jack threw away the gold statue and started walking towards us. I was almost through the rope with the glass I saved. "Honestly, it's the honest ones you want to watch out for because you can never tell when they are about to do something incredibly... stupid" Jack looked up at me and Will just as I had finished cutting my ropes. Jack grabbed a sword from a crew member and threw it to will pushing the pirate into the water. I stood up, kicking the closest pirate to me in the stomach and running for an emerald encrusted sword on a pile of gold, it was light and easy to handle, perfect. I started fighting one of the pirates while Will fought another and Jack fought Barbossa. I looked over at Will then Jack, he drove his sword into Barbosa's gut. That wouldn't work he can't die. Barbossa said something then raised his own arm and buried a sword deep into Jack's stomach. "Nooooo!" I screamed collapsing to the floor being cut across the face, just above my eyebrow to halfway down my cheek, very deep. Why was I reacting like this? What is wrong with me?"Sam look up!" Will shouted, I lifted my head and saw Jack still fighting through my own blood and tears. how was that possible? I watched him get stabbed, then I realised. I stood up and cut the pirate down with more confidence than before. The next time I looked up Elizabeth was standing on a rock, Barbossa's gun pointed at her. Boom! A pistol went off, "Ten years you carry that pistol and now you waist your shot," Barbossa widened his eyes madly, "He didn't waste it!" Will called dropping the last 2 of 882 into the chest. Barbossa ripped open his shirt, blood poured from his chest "I feel..... cold." He whispered then fell backwards. That was the end of Barbossa.
I wandered over to a promising-looking pile of jewellery picking up various rings. "What are you going to do after this Jack?" He looked up, "Sail the seas, pillage and get into all kinds of adventures, Luv what would you be doing after this? go back to being a blacksmith assistant I suppose?" he raised an eyebrow, waiting for my answer. I didn't want to go home, I don't want to go back to being a blacksmith's hand. I had tasted adventure and now that's all I wanted. "I don't ...know," was all I said. the truth is, I really didn't know, I can't leave Will but I need to adventure I can't be stuck with him all my life. I knew that somewhere deep inside me I desperately wanted to go with Jack on the pearl and start a life of piracy. I saw a group of silver rings so I leant down to try them on, they all fit so I walked over to Will, "your fiance will be wanting to know you are safe," said Will, that was his moment, he could have said it, but he didn't. Elizabeth walked away, looking hurt, towards the rowing boats. Jack walked up behind us with a crown lopsided on his head carrying various other jewels and gold. "If you were waiting for the opportune moment," He paused for effect. "That was it," I finished for him, rolling my eyes. "Jack, you always have to make things so dramatic, can we go so I don't have to see you again?" I gestured to Jack, I was cold and that meant I was mean. "Sam, is your face okay?" Will finally looked at me concern flooding his eyes. "Finally someone notices," I joked, "yeh it's fine, at least I will have a pretty cool scar out of it!" I said smiling slightly, rubbing at the blood with my sleeve. I walked over to the boats and sat down. I saw how upset Elizabeth was and as much as I hated her I couldn't just sit here and let her be sad. I slid over and pulled her into a silent hug, she stiffened in surprise then let me hug her. It was short but she seemed happy enough afterwards. Will and Jack stepped into the boat and Will rowed us out of the cave in silence. We reached the mouth of the cave, the black pearl was nowhere to be seen. Jack had fallen behind, he was left behind. "I'm sorry Jack," I said feeling sorry for the pirate. "They done what's right by them. Can't expect more than that." He said sounding defeated. When we got back to port royal he was to be hung. It wasn't right. We boarded the dauntless, Norrington locked Jack up and then said, "perhaps we will be able to overlook your engagement to the pirate provided you never get into trouble again and act as a young lady should." before I could protest Norrington walked off leaving me to my thoughts. I'm not a blacksmiths hand. I am a pirate.
