Alene POV
" Welcome to Lee-County. " Luke said grabbing my hand and smiling.
As we were driving to his Mama's house. I was getting very nervous & questions started to appear in my head.
"What if they don't like me?"
"What if they just think I'm with Luke for the money?" (Which clearly I am not, we always argue who's paying)
"What if they don't like what I'm wearing?"
"Am I showing to much skin?"
Jeans & a white shirt with my boots.
"Are these formal clothing to wear meeting your boyfriends parents?"
Then I wondered about Ford. I forgot all about him until I realized it now that I have a dog.
"Have you heard anything about Ford?" I asked Luke & he was still driving down the road.

Luke POV
"Have you heard anything about Ford?"
That's the one question I didn't want to hear.
"Yea, he's doing great. He loves to jump into the pool cashing after a tennis ball & loves sleeping on my bed apparently." I told her the most recent news I got from my house-keeper which was......2 months ago.
"That's Ford." she chuckled. Soon we pulled up into my childhood home.
It feels good to be back home for once.
I killed the engine & got out walking to Alene's side & helping her out.
Then the barking happened.
"That bark sounds familiar." she informed me.
I just shrugged & we started walking towards the front door. The front door swung open & Ford comes running towards us.
"OH MY!! FORD!!!" Alene screamed with joy & excitement that she ran towards him releasing her hand from mine.
"LUKE?!" My mom screamed in disbelief.
"Hi, Mama." I said hugging her & giving her a kiss on the cheek.
"No wonder Ford was barking like crazy. He was to excited to see,.....I'm assuming Alene right?" My mama asked has Alene got up, dust off your ass & shook mamas hand. but mama just pulled her into a hug.
"Hello, Mrs......" Alene got cut off.
"You stop right there honey.
Rule 1 just call me Mama, don't call me Mrs. Bryan, that makes me feel really old than I am. & Rule 2 there is no more rules, my house is now your house." mama smiled at Alene.
"Ok, Mama." Alene smiled. We then walked in the house.
"Just made supper." mama turned back smiling at us.
"Awesome! I'm starving!" I clapped my hands together
"When are you not?" Alene laughed.
"Good point" I chuckled as mama & Alene entered the kitchen
"Would you like some help mama?" I heard Alene ask
"Oh no, honey it's fine, you go sit down with Luke." Mama answered as she was pushing Alene out. I wanted to burst out laughing but I held it in as Alene was walking towards me playfully glaring at me.
"What?" She "snapped"
"Nothin." I said still trying to hold in the my laughter.
"Mhm" she said as she sat on my lap.
Then I snorted.
Soon dad came in from the back & washed his hands in the kitchen sink.
After he made his way to the dining room table.
"Luke! Finally come & visit your old folks now, huh? & who is this lovely lady you finally let us see."
"Dad, I come whenever I have the chance, you know that, & this is my girlfriend Alene. Alene this is my dad." I said smiling up at her.
"Hello, Mr. Bryan" Alene said while shaking my dads hand.
"Hello dalrin, & just call me Tommy." he smiled at her.

We were all then seated at the table & Mama brought the food out.

Once we were all served, we said grace, & started eating. That's when the questions happened.
"So Alene, tell us a little about yourself or your family." Mama asked
"Oh, there's nothing really." she smiled.
"There has to be something. Like, what do you do?" Mama asked again
"I just manage my father's farm."
Well that took me by surprise. I didn't know she manages a farm. I just stared at her wanting to know more of what she does.
"Wow, really? What kind of farm?" My dad asked
"Well, we have a 2,000 acre farm of different fruits & vegetables & a 7,000 acre farm or Ranch for boarding horses & cattle." Alene smiled feeling proud of what she does. I would too if I had that kind of job.
"Wow. that's sounds amazing" my Mama said in shock. I was too.
"So your parents? Does your dad still run the farm with you?" Mama asked
I looked at Alene & it was like that question hit something in her.
"My father died when I was 7 from a horse accident, my uncle ran the Farm until I was old enough to run it myself, it was in his Will that the farm would be mine. & my Mother well she is live & well living in Alabama."
"Oh I'm so sorry about your father." My mama apologized
"It's fine, you didn't know." Alene smiled at Mama.
The rest of the night was a blur & it was finally time to hit the hay.
We are here for about 3- 7 days which to me is good enough for a little vacation with my baby.
We walked into my old bedroom that was finally fitted with a queen bed. we snuggled under the covers & Ford jumped up with us making his way over to Alene side. So a dog was taking my girl away now, that's nice. Me & Ford where fighting for Alene basically. I pulled her into my right then Ford would whine & Alene went back to him until we settled it. I had my arm on Alene's waist while her arm was on Fords stomach.
