It wasn't long before I was back at school and Dumbledore announced The Triwizard Tournament and all the rules about it. I was too young to enter but was happy to watch from the sidelines.

We also got a new defense against the dark arts teacher, Professor Moody. I always found him to be a bit too clingy around me, which I would soon find out why.

To my surprise, one of the judges had the same last name as me, perhaps he was my father I thought. After the ceremony, I relentlessly tried to get the man's attention but was met with no response in return.

Cedric and I hadn't really spoken after the whole "kiss cam quidditch match" situation until I bumped into him in the corridors.

"Oh...Hey Cedric," I sheepishly said avoiding eye contact.

He replied just as awkwardly "Y/N hi."

"Are you entering The Triwizard Tournament?"
I asked.

"Yes, I am," He stated.

I pat his shoulder and smiled. "Good luck."

"Thank you," Cedric smiled back before continuing to walk where he was going in the first place.

That afternoon I had a long defense against the dark arts lesson since it was a double period, and that creepy Professor wouldn't stop sniffing around me.

His eye was the creepiest I had seen. It was artificial but moved around constantly like one on a reptile. Hair clung to his head desperately as if life depended on it, and he wasn't in the best shape I'd seen.

"You look like you're going to throw up, are you going to?" Neville enquired obviously concerned.

I reassured him "I'm fine Neville, but don't you think there is just something off about this teacher."

"Isn't it obvious, he's a drunkard!" Neville laughed causing me to giggle.

Out of nowhere, Professor Moody creeped upon us. "Ooh, are we telling a joke? I love a good joke."

"No... we're not," I side-eyed him before looking back at my paper which was a pop quiz about the spell Expelliarmus.

Finally, I got back to my dorm room hoping I'd get just at least a little peace and quiet but of course, Cho was in. Ever since the party, I hadn't been on the best of terms with her, especially because of the drunk episode which caused Cedric to have to take me home instead of it being her.

"Hey, Cho I just want to sa-"

Cho rushed out of our room, rejecting my effort to be on civil terms. Crushed, I decided to leave too and take a walk around the grounds.

The courtyard was empty as always but an unexpected guest was also trying to clear their head.

"Harry!" I called out as I picked up my pace and stood beside him.

"Y/N, fancy seeing you here," he said, his eyes looked as if the life had been drained out of them.

I grew a bit silent "Yes, I assume you're doing the same as me."

"Clearing your head?" He guessed.

"Exactly," I replied.

For a few minutes, we just walked beside one and other, the only sound which could be heard was the whistling of the wind. Eventually, Harry decided to break the ice.

"Do you ever wonder.. what they were like?"

This was the last thing I expected to come out of his mouth.

"What who were like Harry?" I asked.

"Our parents."

I was taken by surprise but took a moment to think about what to say.

"All the time," I spilled "One day I'm completely normal and the next I'm told I'm a witch and everyone who is supposed to be like me, treat me like an infection they want to get rid of. Then everyone suddenly loves me."

Harry let out a sigh of relief, "Wow you really do kind of get it, I just wish they were here to tell me what I should do."

I chuckled "Tell me about it."

"I doubt I even need to, I bet it's dinner now."

"Yes, we should really head inside."

And with that, I finally felt that I wasn't alone.
