Writers note:
*P/N* means pet name. Basically you get to name the owl!!

Throughout the whole month, Mother and Hagrid both prepared me for the school year by taking me shopping for supplies.

Flourish and Botts was the first place we went to, since books were mandatory for catching me up with everyone in my year group and just basic classes I would have.

Next, we went to Eeylops Owl Emporium & Magical Menagerie, where I got an elegant Siamese cat and named her sapphire after her sparkly, bright, blue eyes and an Owl named *P/N* her feathers were soft and the color of her was beautiful.

Last but not least, I made a stop at Ollivander's. The moment I set foot inside, I got a very mysterious feel about the place. It was tiny and looked quite empty, except for a single, spindly chair in the corner. Thousands of narrow boxes containing wands were piled right up to the ceiling of the shop, and the whole place had a thin layer of dust about it.

"Welcome to Olliv-" the man paused.

"What can I help you with Miss Crouch?" he asked cautiously.

"Oh well, I would like to receive a wand from you if that's quite alright?" My social awkwardness was really showing but the man didn't take any notice of my shyness. He just stared as if he'd seen a ghost. "Umm sir, are you quite alright?"

He choked on his words "Oh yes, may I ask are you related to.." he quietened his tone "Barty jr?"

"I'm afraid I don't know that name," I replied truthfully confused why he would ask something so out of the blue. Perhaps that was the man who was my true father?

"I'm sorry I just felt the urge to ask I just never expected your arrival, anyways I presume you are here for your first wand my dear?" His tone quickly changed from cautious to inviting.

I smiled "Yes, I apparently enrolled in Hogwarts a bit too late."

"That's quite alright my dear, hmm.." he studied me deep in thought. "I know exactly the one for you."

"Ahh, here we are," Carefully he opened a sleek, slim box to reveal a long but flimsy wand which he placed in my hand. " Sycamore wood with a dragon heartstring core."

A sudden rush fueled my adrenaline and I felt an instant connection with this object. I needed it and it needed me. As if none were able to go on without the other.

"What a perfect fit," the man bubbled "But as a bit of advice from me to you, do not be blinded by others judgment but be blinded by what's right."

"I don't understa-" I began to reply before a tap on the window disturbed me, it was Hagrid.

"We best get goin', I told yer mum you'd be home by now," he said whilst looking at his watch in a hurry.

"Oh yes it was nice to-" and with that, once again another of my sentences cut off since the man was nowhere to be seen now.

Probably just a wizard thing.
