Chapter 12

Softpaw ran as fast as she could, being the fastest in the group of cats behind her she managed to get to the camp first.

She rushed herself through the bramble entrance and halted to a stop, "StreamClan is coming towards camp! Prepare for battle!" She called to her ClanMates who looked at her wide eyed.

"Who died and made you leader?" Sandbush growled.

Does that matter right now? Softpaw thought flustered. "Flamestar sent me to warn you! So it's not an order from me!" She hissed, her tail lashing.

Flamestar, Mistyheart, Oakpaw, Darkpaw, Cloverpaw, Moonpaw,Silverpaw and Stormcall all began coming into camp as paw steps began to get closer.

Oakwish who had just came out of the medicine den checking on Daisy wind, heard the footsteps as well as what Softpaw said. "Oakpaw and Mistyheart, protect the medicine den! Darkpaw and Stormcall protect the queens and kits in nursery! Softpaw, Moonpaw, and Silverpaw protect the elders." He called and signaled with his tail to the rest of their cats to do a line.

"Where is Bluefeather?!" Sandbush asked with a growl.

"There were FireClan cats really close to the border. She went to check it out." Flamestar meowed firmly to the tom.

Just then they all heard a battle cry of Reedclaw. "StreamClan attack! If any of you run or disobey me you'll be severely punished!"

Softpaw was surprised by the force and speed that the StreamClan cats flooded in.

Softpaw watched as Tawnygaze a brown and cream she-cat leapt at Sandbush her long curved claws ready to claw him to shreds.

Sandbush leapt out of the way, and Tawnygaze landed where he had been seconds before as he stood on his back hindlegs, slashing her face with both front paws.

Tawnygaze jumped back and looked up at him her green eyes blazing as she leapt managing to bring him to the ground before Flamestar throw her off him with a powerful back kick.

Tawnygaze let out a yowl as she came towards Softpaw and the others landing in front of them with the wind knocked out of her.

Softpaw slashed her face as she stood up and turned to Softpaw.

Moonpaw leapt onto her shoulder her claws digging into her flesh as Silverpaw yanked her tail as a distraction.

Tawnygaze turned around and dropped down to roll over to crush Moonpaw, but Moonpaw leapt off her and Softpaw clawed at Tawnygaze's exposed belly.

Splashwiah a bluish grey she-cat with white eyes not yet blind came towards them but the three apprentices took turns leaping and holding her, yanking her tell and slashing her wherever they could get their claws.

Softpaw felt Splashwish claws dig into her flank while her back was turned to fight Tawnygaze off again. The two StreamClan she-cats fought and quickly learned the apprentice's tricks.

Softpaw decided to try out something that came to her mind. She puffed her fur and charged towards Tawnygaze and as Tawnygaze clawed at her she dropped sliding under her belly giving a quick claws before getting out from underneath her.

Tawnygaze let out a furious yowl and turned around in full force and Softpaw dropped low in front of her and felt her paws hit her side before Tawnygaze tripped and fell into the bramble bush Softpaw has been aiming for.

"You little mouse brain!" Splashwish hissed seeing what Softpaw had done, but before she could do anything Sandbush appeared and leapt onto her and Softpaw watched as they clawed and raked at each other.
