"SoftKit!" Called a gentle voice waking the young she-cat up.

SoftKit opened her leaf green eyes and moved her fluffy tail as she perked her ears to the nursery entrance. "Coming mother!" She meowed carefully stepping over her three little siblings not to wake them before leaving the nursery.

The nursery was under a bush, which shelter the parts of the nursery that was underground, it's large enough for several cats. But according to the elder stories it was a caved in fox den from when the Clans first came to the territory.

SoftKit looked around the camp her eyes getting used to the sunlight. Warriors were coming in and out with fresh kill or news from patrol.

SoftKit looked around the camp confused, didn't SpotFur call her?
But soon a cat came into view sitting in front of the warriors den with black splotched white fur like her mothers. SoftKit only knowing her mother and her sister CloverKit with fur like approached her grey fur a mess.

"Mother?" She asked as she got closer only to stop in her tracks. This cat was not her mother, the splotches weren't in the right place.

The she-cat unlike her mother had ember eyes instead of green. But she held a gentle glance and just laid down looking at SoftKit amused. "No, I'm SplotchedTail." She said.

SoftKit saw that she was partly see-through, and it seemed her pelt had stars in her pelt. I'm seeing StarClan Warriors again...if MossFur finds out she'll make me her second apprentice! SoftKit thought worriedly.

Without even a word SoftKit turned away and went back to the nursery ignoring the she-cat calling her back to talk.

FlameStar came into the camp BlueFeather and SoftKit's father OakWish behind her. "Ah SoftKit, good morning." FlameStar meowed see SoftKit in her path.

SoftKit perked her ears and dipped her head to her leader, "Good morning FlameStar, BlueFeather and OakWish. Have you seen SpotFur?" She asked.

"Well, she did move back to the warriors den a few nights ago, did you check there?" OakWish asked in his deep but gentle tone.

SoftKit's pelt felt warm with embarrassment at not thinking of that before. But SplotchedTail was over there and she didn't want to talk to any more dead cats. "Oh, I'll wait until she wakes up then, I'm not allowed to be in the Warriors den." She meowed making an excuse for not going to see her mother.

FlameStar nodded, "well, if you need SpotFur I give you full permission to go in there to get her."

BlueFeather carrying a large rabbit sat it down on the fresh kill pile a few fox lengths away before looking up. "I'll go get her for you SoftKit." The blue-grey she-cat meowed going towards where SplotchedTail was, but was no longer.

SoftKit flinched, she hoped she didn't hurt the she-cat's feelings. But she couldn't be seen talking to ghost again.

"You okay SoftKit?" OakWish asked pressing his nose to her fur in a sigh of affection.
SoftKit quickly nodded, "I'm okay, I just want SpotFur." She meowed and laid over on OakWish's paws like she always did when she wanted his attention.

OakWish purred and licked SoftKit's head as she bat at him playfully with her white paws. "You're still so small, especially compared to your brother and sisters." He meowed worriedly.

SoftKit looked up at him her head tilted slightly to the side. It was true, SoftKit was small for her age, she was almost old enough to finally become a apprentice, but warriors always made fun of her and would say mean things.

SpotFur came into view and SoftKit sat herself up and ran up to her mother who purred as she ran into her.

"I'm out of the nursery for not even five nights, and you act like you haven't seen me in a moon." SpotFur meowed amused using her fluffy tail to go over SoftKit's head.

"What can I say? We miss you!" SoftKit meowed not wanting to tell her mother she heard and saw a dead ghost cat that looked like her.

*. *. *. *.
It was a few sunrises later and SoftKit and MoonKit played outside the nursery along with CloverKit and OakKit. "As leader I say SoftKit will be my deputy!" MoonKit meowed sitting on the rock that the warriors had brought in for them to play Clans.

"No fair! Who died and made you leader?" OakKit meowed at his sister as she often took the role of leader.

"To answer your question, FlowerStar the former leader of..." MoonKit paused and looked around the camp, "the former leader of MossClan made me leader."

"But I can't be a warrior with the name kit now can I?" SoftKit asked titling her head, "so I'll be called...SoftFur!"

"How fitting, you are really really soft SoftKit." CloverKit meowed purring. She had been listening to the arguing of OakKit and MoonKit while she enjoyed the sun.

"How about we take a break from playing, we've been playing since sunrise! And it's almost sundown." OakKit meowed.

SoftKit yawned, and looked up to the sky, her brother was right, they had been playing all day.

"Well then, did you know DarkKit will be made a apprentice tomorrow at noon?" CloverKit meowed.

"Did you eavesdrop on the warriors again CloverKit?" SoftKit asked sighing.

"Maybe." CloverKit asked with a smirk.

"Well he is six moons now." MoonKit meowed.

"And EmberPaw, MistyPaw, and SandPaw are being made Warriors tonight." OakKit said looking to the green rock.

SoftKit yawned, "well hopefully it's soon, because I'm tired but want to watch." She meowed as she let out a startled yowl as SilverKit tackles her.

"Got you! What do you think of my pounce?" SliverKit asked as SoftKit squirmed under his weight.

"I think I'm going to kick your tail if you don't get off!" She hissed causing the Tom to jump with a yelp.

SilverKit flatted his ears and hung his head and tail low, "sorry, I was just trying to play." He meowed seeming to forget the she-cat was much smaller then he was.

SoftKit licked her fur down and her gaze softened, "its not your fault, I'm just tired, where did you run off to earlier?"

"Yeah, you left just when foxes attacked the camp!" MoonKit meowed still thinking of play.

"Sorry, DaisyWind was moved to the medicine den after chest pains. I've been waiting outside to see her, but MossFur and FirePaw won't let me in." The silver tabby Tom meowed quietly.

SoftKit's heart sank and she went and sat next to him her soft fur brushing against his fur for comfort.

"Will she be okay?" CloverKit asked but SliverKit didn't answer.

"She'll be okay I'm sure," OakKit began, "remember when BlueFeather had those pains? MossFur said she just had really bad seasonally allergies."

"Yeah! DaisyWind is a strong warrior! She'll make a full recovery." MoonKit chimed in.
Hearing MoonKit's voice SilverKit looked up his eyes brightening, "thanks guys."
