Sunlight warmed Softpaw's pelt and she opened her eyes lazily only to jump to her paws. She wasn't in the FeatherClan camp or StreamClan camp.
Softpaw was standing in a field of flowers, in the distance was a forest and mountains, with snow on the very top of them.
But that wasn't what had the apprentice's attention, there were cats with her.
"Look Sunnytail! Featherwish is awake!" A pale dappled she-cat meowed to a yellow Tom.
"Calm down Deerpaw, I told you she'd recover from her sickness." Sunnytail meowed gently to the apprentice.
Softpaw blinked, were they talking about her? Did they believe her name was Featherwish? "Umm, hello." Softpaw meowed gently blinking as more cats joined them.
Three other cats gathered themselves around Softpaw and looked at the cats around them. It looked like a gathering in daylight.
"This seems like a perfect place to settle the territories!" Said a blue grey she-cat with green eyes, who kinda looked like Bluefeather but her fur was thinner.
"Of course you'd say that after seeing the lake close by Streamwillow." Meowed a black tom with ember eyes. "There is no place for the rest of us, Windclan would do well with these plains, but what about Shadowclan?"
"Calm down Fireclaw, we'll find a place for everyone in time, right Featherwish?" Said a pale grey tom who looked to Softpaw gently.
Softpaw stared at the cats around her dumbfounded, but nodded in agreement. What is going on? Windclan and shadowclan? What is that? Who are these cats?
Just as more cats began to chime in, everything began to fade to black and Softpaw looked up to StarClan to see several starry warriors looking down at her with eyes like moons. "Softpaw run!" She heard her mother cry.
"What? What's going on?! Where am I? Why is everything dark?!" Softpaw cried out as everything faded to black and she felt a sharp prob into her side waking her up.
Softpaw looked up to see Reedstar looking down at her with a hateful glare.
Softpaw felt tiny next to the leader and remembering what Oakwish said about rumors of Reedstar making an example out of one of the FeatherClan apprentices. And well, she was the only apprentice.
"Come with me Softpaw, I want to personally train on fishing, you've impressed me with your fishing. For a forest cat." He meowed lowly, with a hint of a growl.
Softpaw looked next to her at Creekpaw who was fast asleep. I have to alert him somehow. She thought to herself as she stood up. An idea came to her head, with the almost moon she'd been in StreamClan, she learned Creekpaw was ticklish.
As Reedstar turned to led the way she swished her fluffy tail against Creekpaw's muzzle. She knew it worked when she felt him move her tail with his muzzle in response to it.
She followed the leader careful not to seem afraid or suspicious. He brought her to a deep part of the river where Softpaw saw fish jumping out then back into the water.
With the morning sun beginning to peak from the surface of the mountains a long ways away, which with a shutter Softpaw recognized from her dream. The scene before her was beautiful."Softpaw." Reedstar spoke quietly. "Do you know why I hate FeatherClan so much?"
Softpaw was surprised by his question, she shook her head in response. Now curious she listened more closely.
"When I was still a young warrior, I met a she-cat by the name of Birdflight, she was beautiful..and I loved her greatly." He meowed gently, "she was a FeatherClan medicine cat, and because of this she wasn't allowed to have mates or kits. But we in secret would met every so often in the dark of the night on the borders." He explained.
