Chapter 10-A Talk with grandpa

When I passed out, it almost felt like I was in two places at once...if that makes any sense.

I heard Audree's voice calling Oscar and the others, but I couldn't wake up. I was suddenly pulled into what seemed to be a throne room. There was an empty throne In Front of me, the light coming from the windows was dull and everything about this place was just eerie and sinister. "Nice room, eh?" a voice suddenly said next to me. Startled, I turned and saw an old man wearing a white shirt and gray suit. He had his long, gray hair in a bun at the back of his head, he wore rimless glasses and had gold earrings on both ears. "Who are you?" I asked. He laughed and said "I am Maximus, kai. Your grandfather." That shocked me (NO IT DIDN'T). "Oh okay, what do you want? Why am I here in the first place?"

He smiled "Well you are here because I want to talk to you. As for what I want well...I want you to die". Okay not cool man, not cool. Talking about killing me while looking all nice and calm freaks me out.

"That isn't cool grandpa...talking about killing your grandson so casually." I could still hear the struggle happening outside but when I tried to go back to my world it almost felt like I hit a wall. "Not today, you can't get out unless I let you out of here you can't leave this state" I stared at him straight in his purple eyes "well if you wanted to threaten me you've done it. So, let me go and I'll make sure I get you your medicine when I come to visit again okay?". He laughed "You have guts, just like your father. I will be waiting for your arrival at the palace of lights". "What-" I felt like I was pushed through 3 walls straight and I just woke up gasping for air. It looked like there were lights just above me which almost blinded me instantly. With a groan I said, "Are you trying to blind me?" there were faces hovering above me, but the two I recognized were Oscar's and Audree's.
"What happened?" I said as I tried to sit up.

"You blacked out all of a sudden and it was almost like you had a seizure. We carried you into the healers' tent to see if they could do something, but they said that you were having some sort of vision and nothing could be done."

"They were sort of right. I need to talk to you guys in private."

Oscar told the rest of the crowd to go back to their daily activities as I was okay now. I honestly hated this attention but there wasn't anything I could really do about it.

They grabbed two chairs and sat near my bed. "Okay Kai, what did you see?" Oscar asked.

I told them all about my encounter with my grandfather and that he wants to kill me.

"He's expecting me at the palace of lights. Wherever that is." Oscar backed into a corner, staring at me. "Oscar what's wrong? You look like you've seen my grandpa."

"The palace of Lights, the most stupid place to ever be in. I went there once by mistake."

He glanced at Audree for a split second and continued "it's a pretty weird place. Very disorienting" he looked at her again, but she avoided his eyes. "why do you keep looking at her?" I asked.

"I know how to get you there undetected, that's why." She was staring at the floor.

"How do you know?" I asked. I kinda knew what was coming next but i wanted to hear it from her.

"I ran away from home.... the palace of lights. I can get you back."
