I woke up at the sound of my screaming alarm clock. I shut it and began to get out of bed but suddenly I heard laughing downstairs. Dazed and confused, I walked downstairs and went to the kitchen and I saw my mom with her usual cup of coffee sitting at the round breakfast table and opposite to her was a man and a woman. I gasped and put my back against the wall "It's them. So, whatever happened yesterday was REAL". I gathered myself but I was still freaking out really bad. I walked out "what's up?", I said. "Hey sweetie, I was just talking to your friends over here". "I'm sorry mom but I had to let them stay and I couldn't ask for your permission." "I'm glad that they're here, now that you are, we need to talk." For once everyone was quiet. I got a bad feeling in my stomach; I knew something was up.

"Mom do you know these two? I mean I didn't even tell you about how they got here or where they came from. And they have weapons which is kind of freaky". I turned to them "No offence guys but you two looked really scary when I found you'. She smiled but I saw the pain in her expression and said, "Kai there something you must know about yourself." There was so much tension in the room I doubted that even Oscar's swords could cut through it. "Mom just tell me alright. I'm already freaking out, there's no way it could get freakier than this".

"Kai, you know you're adopted, but you were given to me for a reason. I was one of the only elves in this realm that your grandfather Maximus didn't turn against your father, Zayden. He came to me saying that you needed to be safe and you were the start to an important chain of events."

I was in total shock; my mom was an elf? How did I not notice anything different about her, she seemed so normal that you wouldn't even know that she was not even human. "So, who is my dad? And why did my grandfather hate him? Who am I in the first place? And-."

"Kai I can't explain everything now, but I know who you are. You are the son of Bellona. This is all I can tell you now, I've told these two some things and they'll tell you on the way." Her tone was pretty sad, she looked like she was telling a family bad news at her job.

I stared at her right in the eyes and asked, "Where am I going? I'm not leaving."

This was the first time I ever saw her so sad, "I know you don't want to, but you have to leave now. They were pulled off-course for a reason. They are just as important as you are. You need to leave with them, get proper training and become strong so that you can face challenges ahead. It's the only way to protect you, I promised your dad I'd protect you so I'm doing that. Now, go pack your essentials and leave, before it's too late." I really didn't want to leave but I just went upstairs without saying a word and started packing stuff into my backpack with tears streaming down my face.
