Y/N p.o.v
I woke up in the morning, getting ready.
I put on my uniform and everything.Blackquill is quite rude.
But I can feel his hesitance.
I will get there with a little more patience. It's been a few weeks. He is still not warming up to me.
Gotta admit, just standing there in silence is quite boring.I got into the lowest floor of the prison, early in the morning.
"Taka, you are not supposed to be here. Fly out, NOW."Hmm? Taka?
Who's there with Simon??I hurried to the room just to see the night guard sleeping, and a... big brown hawk.
"...That's... unexpected..."
I said.Blackquill stared at me from behind the bars, quietly growling in anger.
I rolled the sleeping night guard out, the hawk still sitting on the floor in front of the cell.
It had a black and white 'collar', and the hawk was brown just like the feather Blackquill had in his mouth.
"Is it yours?"
I finally asked."And what if it is?"
He replied aggressively."...
Can I feed it?""E-Excuse me...?"
"I can get some raw meat from the kitchen before they cook it today.
Wait a sec..."
I hurried out.
Blackquill started saying something but I already disappeared.I shouldn't leave my station, but it's not like he'll escape, right?
After all, the other guard fell asleep and he did nothing.I think Simon gave up on his freedom long ago...
I shook my head.
Don't think about it, Y/N.
Just get it already."I'm baaack!"
I announced, going back inside.I put the meat on the floor, and the hawk jumped on it like it hadn't eaten something like that for a long time.
Blackquill slightly sighed in relief.
"The name's Taka. My feathered friend.""What a cutie!"
I petted Taka's head.
Blackquill looked quite surprised.Taka jumped on my shoulder.
I-I'm sure I won't get bitten...
This hawk is HUGE."Are you here to visit Sir Blackquill?
Hmm... usually death row inmates don't get the privilege of visitors, but I suppose I'll let it slide."
I told Taka. The hawk flew through the bars and onto Simon's shoulder.
"Impressive. No one has ever gained Taka's trust other then me.""Stop it, you'll make me feel special."
I joked....
...
..."L/N-Dono, I would like to thank---"
Simon started, but was quickly cut off by a sound from the hallway. He signed Taka to fly away, and the hawk rushed to go through the small, barred window above.
"Ahahaha! Thank you, good man!
I'll take it from here."
Someone with a short haircut wearing a white suit and sunglasses appeared in the doorway."Woah, woah, woah! Stop right there, Sir!
No visitors for this inmate! You appear to be in the wrong side of this place."I decided not to point a gun at him, but my hand stayed around my belt, ready to defend Simo- I mean, stop this man if he's planning something.
"Hello there, ma'am! I assure you, I'm in the right place, hahaha! I'm detective Bobby Fulbright.
In justice we trust!"
He presented me his certificate and credentials.
Okay, I can let my guard down... for now."I can't think about any need for a detective to visit THIS inmate."
I crossed my arms, still sceptical. This man's personality was TOO happy and pumped up. In a creepy way.
...
maybe this is how Simon felt when I arrived..."A letter should do it.
From the chief prosecutor."
Fulbright handed me an envelope."I suppose it does...
Hmm... let's see... it's for you, Blackquill! But my duty is to check anything before you, sooo...
The chief prosecutor, Miles Edgeworth, did all the paperwork necessary for you to get your law licence back and fulfil your duty as a prosecutor even while being an inmate.
Cool.
...
...!
WAIT, YOU USED TO BE A PROSECUTOR??"Blackquill looked away, not saying anything.
"Yes indeedy! And I am assigned to keep an eye on him!"
Detective Fulbright exclaimed, putting on a powerful pose."Here are the case files, and we'll take you to court tomorrow!"
He said to Simon while handing me a pile of papers."Thank you, fool-bright. Can't wait."
Blackquill said sarcastically."Hahaha! I'll head out, then!
In justice we trust!"
The detective left the room.
