The sun started setting.
I watched the sky as it changed colors.
The others started leaving, and I waved goodbye, still staring at the colorful sky, zoning out.
"It's so much better to see it from here than from the small window in my cell, right?"
Simon noted, approaching me.
"You always worked until much later."
"Y-Yea..."
I blushed from how close he was.
We continued watching in silence as the sky turned dark blue, stars appearing.
"We can go now, if you want."
I suggested.
Simon nodded, and we went on our way.
After a few minute, silent walk, we arrived.
"That's a nice place you have here,
L/N-Dono."
Blackquill said, looking around as I closed the door behind me.
"R-Really? I actually hope to move out once I have a little more money."
I admitted.
"Or, at least, when I'll get a proper job once and for all."
"Hmm, I'm not sure. Something in here makes me feel warm and cozy."
Simon mumbled.
"And the kitchen and the living room are connected? That's mind-blowing!"
He acted dramatic all the sudden, making me laugh.
"...Anyways, this door is the bathroom, my room is right there and this couch right here can open into a bed."
I pointed around.
"Do you have a setup for me to sleep on the floor? I don't think I'm ready for a bed."
Simon scratched his head, embarrassed.
"Sure, no problem. Let me know if there's anything else I can do for you to make you feel comfortable in here.
...
Oh, um, you do whatever you want, I'm just going real quick to find something for Taka to stand on."
I left the small living room.

I look around.
After seven, long years, I won't be sleeping in a dark cell. It's quite new for me.
And Y/N... she is so sweet. Doing everything she can to help.
...
Oh, damn it. Athena's been getting into my head these past few hours. She insists that it's obvious that Y/N and I love each other.
I sigh.
There's only one way to find out, but when will be the right time to tell her...?
I went to the bathroom to wash my hands.
I look in the mirror. It's been so long since I saw my reflection.
How is she not scared of someone like me?
I went out, seeing her nailing an old, broken broomstick to the wall, making sure it's stable.
Taka left my shoulder, landing on it.
"Oh, great. I was worried it wouldn't work."
Y/n smiled, gently petting his head.
Then she looked at me.
"Uh, Simon? You good? Your face is red."
O-Oh no, I blushed.
"You didn't get sick or something, I hope..."
She put a hand on my forehead.
Then she was taken aback, hesitant.
"C-Could you l-lean a little forwards? Y-You are t-too t-tall."
She mumbled.
I did as she asked.
I felt Y/N kiss my forehead, checking my temperature. I tensed up.
"Y-Y-You seem f-fine..."
She looked away, embarrassed.
"Now y-you are r-red."
Is all I managed to say back.

"I-Is that s-so...?"
I stuttered.
His eyes stared into mine.
AAAAA WHY DID I DO THATTT??
I didn't know what to say.
This is so embarrassing...
"I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry! I should have just got a thermometer or s-something!"
I apologised, my face burning.
Simon cupped my cheeks, and this caught me off-guard. I didn't even consider the possibility that his pale face could be colored because---
"C-Can I...?"
He mumbled.
"Y-Yea..."
I answered without thinking.
My mind went blank as our lips connected.
I melted into the kiss as Simon was holding me steady.
My heart was beating like crazy.
I suppose that... this is a moment I've been waiting for, for a long time...
I don't know how much time passed when we pulled away for air.
I buried my face in his chest, embarrassed.
Simon was frozen, as he was still processing what just happened.
"You are very important to me, L/N-Dono."
Blackquill said eventually, breaking the silence, his fingers running through my hair.
"More than important, i-if you catch my drift."
I looked at him.
"I-I feel the same way, too..."
I admitted.
"Hmpf. So Cykes-Dono was right. And to think that I was too scared to confess."
Simon smirked.
"It's kinda funny, how it happened right now. I just... didn't even think that you... you know..."
I looked aside, smiling a little.
"Love you?"
He chuckled.
"It's true that I don't show my feelings.
But I never stopped thinking about you.
You always made my day better, and now... I might be the happiest person alive."
