"I see you have a lot of things to go through, PROSECUTOR Blackquill."
I smiled while slipping the pile through the bars."Thanks, L/N-Dono. Sorry I didn't tell you."
Simon replied."Well, it's not like you owe me an explanation for everything."
I shrugged."...I owe you a lot."
He suddenly said."W-What?"
"You were so nice and genuine to me these past weeks. Even when I was a jurk.
Thank you. Really.
...I think you being here makes this dammed place feel a little better and this dark cell feel a little more cozy.""S-Simon..."
I was touched by his words.
"T-Thank y-you..."
My heart went crazy."I... just have one question. If I may."
"Y-Yea? What is it?"
"Why.
Why are you like that?"
Blackquill asked."W-What do you mean?"
"How can you be so nice to someone with blood on their hands?
I would've despised a person like that."
He struck me with a hard question."I... suppose I... just believe in... second chances..."
I mumbled."Have you forgotten why I'm here?
And in what area, specifically?"
Blackquill grabbed the bars."I am a MURDERER, L/N-Dono! There's no second-chance for someone like ME!"
"The more you say that, the more it looks like YOU are TRYING to CONVINCE YOURSELF that this is what you are!"
I shot back."The evidence say something else entirely."
He murmured. My thoughts went flying in my head.
"Well I don't believe those evidence. I believe that you don't deserve all of this."Blackquill's eyes suddenly widened.
Did I just say it out loud?
"You are a special one, L/N-Dono."
Was it... a slight smile on his face?
...a sad smile."You make it harder to let go."
"W-What do you mean?"
"My sentence will be carried in a few months. But I got too attached."
He sighed, looking away."S-Simon..."
I felt a slight blush on my cheeks.
"I think I got attached, too. Even more-""Y/N! Y/N!"
Someone bursted in."C-Chief??"
What is he doing here...?"There's a prison riot at the thieves' area! The other guards are getting punched and hurt! Please go settle it!"
He was very panicked."B-B-But it's going to be Blackquill's yard-time soon!"
"Don't worry, L/N-Dono. Your boss is more than capable of escorting me to places."
Simon suddenly spoke up."Just promise me you won't get hurt."
"A-Alrighty. I'll see you in the yard, then."
"Yea... see you..."
He sounded hesitant all the sudden. Bur I didn't have time to think. I had to get to the thieves' area, and quickly.

...I'm going to do something very hard.
I hope Y/N will forgive me for this...
...but it's best. For both of us."S-So... Mr. Blackquill...!
To the y-yard we go...?"
That old man is shaking like a baby duckling."I won't hurt you. I don't want to disappoint L/N-Dono."
I stated. The man finally calmed down.
Ugh, and he dares to call himself a chief around here. What a coward.I let him escort me to the yard.
It felt weird.
Y/N usually has a gentle grip on my shoulder, and she walks confidently with a smile, trusting me.
The chief was still worried, squirming next to me.I rolled my eyes.
It's like I am the one escorting him."So you are the one in charge of all the guards here?"
I asked him."Y-Y-Y-Yes...!"
Ugh, this is going to be a pain.
"Then I have something to ask of you."
I say, hesitant.
There's still time to turn back..."Y-You are not in a p-position to ask t-things, you see..."
He managed to object with the little courage he had.Y/N would be disappointed if I were to intimidate someone, especially behind her back.
...
I'll explain him the situation. With the right arguments and with strategic psychology manipulation, he will agree....but... there's a part of me who doesn't want to request that...
N-No. I have to.
I'm sorry, L/N-Dono.
