Abhimanyu's POV

"Let it be babe. She probably went home." Shanaya says putting a hand on my shoulder. I brush her hand away, very conscious of all the people looking our way. I can't afford a scandal right now.
"Who even cares where she is" she mutters under breath but I manage to hear it.

"I care. I care Shanaya, because she came with me and I am responsible for her. " I snap quickly.
Where is this girl?
I look around the banquet hall again, but there is no sign of Saanvi. And trust me when I say this, she looked fucking gorgeous tonight. There is no way I would miss spotting her if she came in front of me.

Suddenly I get an unsettling feeling that she might've left with Vikrant but just then I spot Vikrant two tables away and sigh in relief.

"Just call her." Is Shanaya's brilliant idea. As if I hadn't thought of that.

"I tried. Its busy."

"Try again or something.
I don't care, Abhi." She huffs. I am almost about to press on Saanvi's contact name to call her but Shanaya presses her front to mine and whispers, "Let's just go back to my place. I miss you, we haven't spent any time together in a week."

I push her away gently so that we are standing at a respectable distance.
"We are at an event. Maintain some distance or tomorrow they'll be breaking news which will be labelling me as a cheating husband and you as a homewrecker." I say through clenched teeth.

She has the audacity to look hurt. But that makes me soften my tone. I can't believe I just spoke to her like that. What the fuck is wrong with me.
"I am sorry. I didn't mean to snap at you but I am just really worried. Give me two minutes, please."
Shanaya nods rolling her eyes.
My phone just then beeps with a message notification just as I am about to call Saanvi.

Saanvi: booked a cab home since you looked busy.

What the actual hell? Is my first thought after reading her text.
She is at home. I feel relieved that she is okay but angered that she didn't bother to let me know sooner or waited for me to take her home.
And what is "you looked busy" even supposed to mean? When was I busy.....HOLY SHIT! she saw me with Shanaya, that can be the only explanation.

I know what I did was stupid. But Shanaya came onto me out of nowhere and it took me a minute to pull away from the exchange. She must have seen us then.

I know it's hard to believe but it's been over a month since I kissed Shanaya. But today...today was different. After seeing Saanvi accept the dance from Vikrant something snapped inside me. This is easily one of the most irresponsible things I've ever done.

On one hand I was telling Saanvi to act like we are in love and on the other hand I was making out with Shanaya in that barely hidden place. I shouldn't have kissed her in this event, anyone could have walked in on us and this news could easily be the downfall of us.

"I need to go." I tell Shanaya and take a step towards the exit but she grips my hand and stops me.

"Where do you think you are going? She is safe right. So now you don't have to worry and we can go back to my place-"
