"Hermione... I think I've found it," Harry said quietly, aware they were in a library. Hermione checked the book, and grinned widely when she found the addition she was looking for.
"This is it, Harry," She whispered. "You won't have to participate in that vile tournament,"
"Or you," Harry added. "I wonder why Dumbledore didn't use something like this."
"Considering he wanted to fatten you up with compulsion and loyalty potions, I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted you to compete," Hermione scoffed. "If only we could leave the castle whenever we wanted, but I'm sure Dumbledore has the wards under his control," She noted, before gasping and turning to look at Harry. "Wait, didn't you say your family line goes back to each founder?"
"Yeah, except Slytherin, which I won by conquest," Harry shrugged, before he reached the same page as she did. "Are you saying I can-"
"Control the Hogwarts wards? That's exactly what I'm saying," Hermione finished, her eyes gleaming with a mischief Sirius would be proud of.
"So I could theoretically exempt us from the alert given when we cross the wards," Harry realised.
"Even better- as the heir to the Founders, you have the ability to overrule the Headmaster's every decision," Hermione added, her eyes ablaze. "I read about it in Rowena Ravenclaw's diary,"
"Not only that- I could block him from doing the same thing, but I'd have to find the ledger," Harry grinned. "But what I'm more excited about... is that means we get access to the Restricted Section," He waggled his eyebrows jokingly as Hermione gasped.
She actually squealed as she ran forward to kiss him soundly.
"I love you so much," She murmured breathlessly.
"M-Madam Pince-" Harry managed to warn as the positively livid librarian marched angrily towards them.
"I don't care," Hermione continued looking at him dreamily. "You and books and you..." She sighed happily, even as Madam Pince's high heels were growing much louder, seemingly oblivious. "My life is complete,"
"MISS GRANGER!" Madam Pince roared, bearing down on the now terrified girl.
"Ma'am, this is a library!" Harry feigned outrage as Hermione clasped his hand tightly. Even in the moment, she barely contained a giggle.
"This is not a place for teenagers to desecrate with their outrageous displays of osculation!" Madam Pince screeched.
"We're sorry, Madam Pince, you're absolutely right," Hermione apologised profusely, scandalised. If she was going to be caught breaking a rule, she wanted it to be something to do with house elves, not snogging the brains out of her boyfriend. Then again, it was his fault for being so irresistible in the first place.
"Yes, we'll make sure to do it somewhere else," Harry assured the librarian, and Hermione smacked his arm. "I mean, I'm sorry for kissing my beautiful girlfriend," Smack. "We won't do it again,"
Hermione was blushing as she glared at him. As usual, it was too adorable to scare him, though he supposed that would change with time.
Madam Pince scowled down at him. "Don't think just because you're famous, you're allowed to yell in a place of silence," She stalked off angrily.
Hermione found herself glaring at the back of the librarian in defence of Harry, who embarrassedly looked away.
"Don't worry about it," He said quietly.
"That witch," She growled in return, suddenly feeling less keen about the library.
"Well, I guess there's a reason she's a Madam," Harry mumbled. Hermione turned to him with a half incredulous, half amused face.
