Sunny has been blabbering about something for the past 5 minutes and all she has done is hum to everything.

She stares at Sunny—taking in the pale look of her skin, her dyed blonde hair and grey eyes—the upward turn to the corner of her lips as she talks—she's beautiful. She looks like Lisa.

And just like that, the trance is broken.

"I'm sorry to interrupt but listen, Sunny, uh..."

"My name's Sunmi.", the girl says with a slight grimace on her face as Jennie widens her eyes in embarassment, a very thick air of awkwardness settling between the two dates.

"God damn you, Lisa..." She mutters under her breath, quickly buckling on her seatbelt, almost sure what to do next but she stops.

She's already ruined her date with Sunn- Sunmi, she thinks dejectedly and huffs. Well, now what?
Maybe she should just...do it. Do it, tell Lisa how you feel and ruin it for yourself, the little voice inside her head says.

It's not her occasional self-sabotaging tendencies that make her park up to Lisa's house...or should she say, rather noisy house. She thinks it could be a party but then why would she not have been invited?

She rings the doorbell with shaky hands, not sure of what she'll find on the other side of the door. She can't help but notice the boom of the music even though she presses the doorbell switch only for a mere second.

"Jennie! Is the date over?" A tipsy-looking Rosé asks, pulling her into the loud house filled with bodies and humidity without waiting for the answer.

"Yeah, I blew it." Jennie says as Rosé studies her expressing before mirroring the same grimace Jennie wears as she says it.

"It was that bad?"

"I kept...I called her Sunny. Her name was Sunmi."

"Jesus... alright. Fine. At least you didn't call her Lisa, so kudos to you for that." Rosé says to her with a light pat to her back before shifting her eyes around the room, pointless because of the dense bodies moving around it sloppily.

Jennie wonders why she wasn't invited. Lisa and her had been hanging out for a few months now (along with their other mutual friends, of course) and she had been invited to all the parties. This was just weird.

"Jisoo's there." Rosé says, pausing for a long while. "Oh, I mean- your Lisa too, yeah." She adds nervously as Jennie holds in her teasing reaction because she figures Rosé does not really want anyone to know about her little crush on Jisoo.

They make their way, squeezing between taller bodies and breathing in relief when they reach their destination.

Lisa looks a little surprised when she spots Jennie. Like of course, she was not invited.

They probably have a staring competition for a little more than thirty seconds there, which shifts the air to resemble a tense atmosphere which makes Jisoo and Rosé fidgety.

"I need to talk to you." Jennie says as Lisa tilts her head, nodding lightly. "...somewhere quieter."

"Sure." Lisa says, not stopping herself from grabbing Jennie's arm and leading her up the stairs to her room.

Her bedroom. Jennie feels herself get slightly dizzy.

They have a staring match in the room, again, before Lisa cuts in through the muffled music, "How was the date?"

Jennie's taken aback. They're not that kind of friends. They don't talk about everytime Lisa disappears during frat parties right after Mina arrives. An intense burn in Jennie's chest flares up.

"I couldn't hold it together." She says, swallowing other, bolder words.

"I'm..uh, sorry to hear. You wanted to say something?"

Jennie gulps. "I couldn't stop thinking of her as you. She had these grey irises like you but not quite and her hair was blonde but more so strawberry and she was talking about- she was almost you but no one can be you."

She watches Lisa's grey orbs shift from confusion to cluelessness to just nothingness.

Lisa snickers a little, then.

"Are you trying to get back at me for not inviting you to the party? No shade, seriously, I thought you'd like to go to the date more so I just didn't bother. I'll make it up to you if you wan-"

"I'm serious. I don't need any goddamn party nor do I need a date. You...Lisa do you even see? This isn't a joke. It has never been. I have feelings for you, Lisa, regardless of us not even being friends due to me being a nervous wreck everytime you're around." Jennie says, flailing her arms around, trying to somehow get these unregulated emotions out of her system.

She wants to cry now. She needs to get out of here. Fast, her brain says.

"Just- I need to go." She says urgently, trying to make it to the door, but Lisa pulls on her arm, looking her dead in the eyes.

"Do you- oh my god. This...is so stupid. Why didn't you tell me before? How long has it even been?"

"It doesn't matter, Lisa. Let me go." Jennie struggles, conscious of the tears already forming in her eyes.

Lisa notices, and it's fucking embarassing and stupid and angering and it's all a big mess. Jennie is a big fat mess and she curses herself for not thinking this through. But it's not for long because Lisa pulls her tightly against herself and she's breathing in Lisa now. Lisa—beautiful, badass, amazing, unattainable Lisa.

"You know I'm not good at this but the feelings are mutual." Lisa says softly, stroking Jennie's head just the same.

It takes a second for Jennie to catch on with all the not humid-because-of-so-many people-in-the-house but golden warmth she's feeling. She gasps.

"Is that... Please don't play me like that. Like, joke about everything but thi-"

Lisa presses her thumb against Jennie's lips, then, eyeing it with a soft look.

"This isn't a joke. It has never been." Lisa says, repeating Jennie from before and Jennie gets dizzy again.

Oh my god, she should really get her head checked.

"...Have I wooed you enough to kiss you yet, then?"

Oh my god, fuck that, she's about to die.

A/N: back with another one. I've been having blocks again but I'm trying to push through. Been dabbling with classes that I don't even want but hey, it's cool for the most part, won't lie. Hope y'all are doing good ୧(^ 〰 ^)୨
