Lisa's heartbeats pick up its pace faster than before if that's even possible. The sight in front of her is a beautiful (duh) and slightly redder Jennie than usual. She can clearly hear the quick hitch at the back of Jennie's throat at seeing her and that makes her awfully self-conscious. Lord, she feels like she's going to crumble right this second.
"Lisa..." Jennie says softly, her tone sharp with surprise and apprehension.
"Jennie." Lisa says, thanking the Gods above for being able to keep her voice even.
"You're soaked." Jennie says with worry as she takes in the condition of Lisa's clothes and hair.
"I was- yeah this is definitely a bad time." Lisa says, her eyes habitually falling behind Jennie to find the usual clock sitting beside the girl's television gone. Even so, she's aware it must be something around 1AM.
"Come in." Jennie offers genuinely as Lisa immediately shakes her head.
"No...I just...I- uh.." Lisa curses in her head at the lack of words in her headspace at the moment. "I don't wanna ruin your house. I just didn't know it'd rain that heavily and of course it's 1AM and it's just unreasonable to show up at your door like this at 1AM. I don't need to come in I just wanted to see you cause I'm back in town. For the time being." Damn, she totally wasn't rambling right now.
"It's 3AM." Jennie's response has Lisa's facial features paint red. "Please come in." She says and walks backwards, making space for Lisa to oblige.
Lisa tries to enter her apartment as gracefully as possible, but to no avail. Her shoulder brushes against Jennie's and a profound shiver vibrates through both the bodies. Jennie's shiny piercing eyes meet hers halfway and they both know the shiver is anything but the result of the cold rain. Jennie's eyes pull away and settle on the door ahead of her and she closes it with a bang. Lisa quietly inhales deeply, suddenly overcome by nostalgia.
She can feel every moment she can recall with Jennie on her skin. She can feel every playful nudge to her arm, every naughty finger-curling with the intention of tickling her stomach, every hug, lingering or greeted in a hurry, every whimpered 'I love you' breathed against her neck...She can feel Jennie. She's felt Jennie these last five months to the point that she's almost wondered about the validity of her own sanity.
Jennie looks at her, a considerable amount of distance between them, and Lisa misses her. Jennie is right in front of her but she misses her all the same.
"How have you been?" Jennie asks and Lisa blinks.
She doesn't know what she was expecting, really. She had definitely been jittery about the possibility that a few photo frames would be hurled at her tonight although that's unlike Jennie, but still.
"Alright." She says, watching the look in Jennie's eyes shift a tad. "Umm...bad." Lisa tries again, but with honesty this time as Jennie nods softly, an understanding look crossing her features.
