"So? Are you gonna come?" Jennie asks and Lisa panics inside, partly by the fact that she wasn't paying attention at all to the words Jennie just uttered, and partly by the fear that she has been, or is probably going to be caught for getting lost into the other girl's feline eyes.
How did things turn out like this? She doesn't know.
All she knows is she came to school today, head hung low because of her stupid pink head. Yes, pink head.
Basically she somehow thought sneaking into a bar with Nayeon is a brilliant idea. Apparently, she also thought drinking three shots without breaks for someone who has never tasted a drop of alcohol was also a good idea. And to add to her absolutely fucked-up thought process, she thought drunk-dyeing her own hair pink was a good idea.
It's all Nayeon's fault, she kept telling herself the whole weekend after her mom was about to hit her miserable pink head with their fiberglass hockey stick they keep for burglars thinking she was someone else. Well, dyeing her hair pink was her own decision and Nayeon could not have vigorously forced her into it so it really is her fault, mostly. That, however, did not stop her from ghosting Nayeon over the whole weekend.
Who knew Nayeon would have green hair the next time Lisa saw her? No one, of course. Turns out, Nayeon had drunk-dyed her own hair too, causing Rosé to address the poor girl as "broccoli". Lisa did not get away with her stupid pink head though. Rosé really went there and called her "candy floss" and if anyone knows Lisa they know how much she hates the word "floss". It makes her skin crawl. She thinks part of why people don't like to visit the dentist is because they hate this cursed word too.
Nayeon nudges her foot from under the table and she snaps out of it, very clearly having been caught staring into feline eyes too hard. The eyes travel off to a distance in disappointment as Lisa feels a tinge of guilt pull at her heart.
She's not the one who had slammed her hand on someone else's desk out of nowhere and kind of glared at the person in front of her, though. It was Jennie.
She takes a wild shot at it and utters a "Yes." loud enough for Jennie to hear.
She doesn't want Jennie to think she doesn't want to do this. She does. God, she does.
Nayeon would have heard it for the bunny ears she has. Lisa can ask her later.
Feline eyes light up again, this time twinkling rather than blazing, and the guilt dissolves while butterflies start to swarm in Lisa's stomach.
"So you will go on a date with me?!" Jennie says loud enough for everyone in the classroom to hear as they all turn to them with awkward gazes.
Lisa shifts nervously, both from the gazes and the unbelievable excitement on Jennie's part.
"Yes." Lisa says with a small smile to hide her nerves, hoping the other girl doesn't see it.
"Okay." Feline eyes bore into hers with a soft twinkle as she forgets her pink hair for a few beautiful moments.
