doyoung got back home from school grounds, where the portal had left him.the first thing he had done when arriving back in the human realm was curing out loud.
he was freezing, and passing from a warm temperature to the cold atmosphere of his realm hadn't really helped.
in order to warm himself up a bit, he had run all the way to his family castle, causing him to get there completely out of breath.
"the heir of the realm, sir kim doyoung!" one of the guards announced as the large gates opened, allowing the boy to enter the castle.
doyoung walked across the electric blue carpet, ignoring the many guards standing there as he got to the giant staircase to get to his room.
once he got there, threw his bag on the floor and jumped on the fluffy bed, landing on his back and then catching his breath.
doyoung stayed in this position for a while, simply replaying the day he had lived in his mind.
what he expected to be a normal day had in fact transformed into a crazy and unimaginable one.
first, getting kidnapped by their enemy's son.
then, being brought to their realm and their school.
also, getting stared at a lot, and meeting this super weird demon named taeyong.
plus, spending the day with jaehyun – who turned out to be quite sympathetic compared to what he imagined.
and finally, being sent back to his realm after a whole school day.
doyoung didn't really know what to think about everything that had happened.
his mind was telling him to spill everything to his parents.
they would surely get mad and attack the demon realm for that, even if none of the demons had harmed doyoung. just as a principle.
but jaehyun was right: the human realm was more into culture than into warcraft. and this meant that they had no chance to win against the demon realm.
and so, if doyoung told his parents about the kidnapping, he couldn't dare imagine all the bad consequences that this could have on his entire realm.
so, the best for him was to stay silent.
a knock on the door was heard when doyoung sighed deeply, trying to forget about the miserable condition he was in.
"come in!" he exclaimed, sitting up on the bed to have a clearer view of the person that would enter his bedroom.
"good evening sir." a maid said, bowing once she had entered. "the queen said that you'll be eating in half an hour. she requested you to have a bath in the meantime."
"okay. i'll do it. thanks." doyoung replied with a nod as the maid closed the door of the room behind her back.
doyoung fell back on the bed immediately.
"what a good way to start this fucking week..." he breathed out.

"how was your day, doyoung?" the king of the human realm asked out loud, digging into his food.
his son gulped, trying not to make it obvious that it hadn't been the best day of his life. "good, i guess. just a normal day, you know?"
doyoung and his parents were seated at the end of one of the giant wooden tables of the castle. a beautiful blue and gold tablecloth had been placed on top of it as well as a good amount of porcelain plates and silverware.
the three family members were having dinner peacefully, surrounded by guards – as always – and maids who often changed the plates of food.
"what did you learn at school today, dear? was it interesting?" his mother questioned after her husband.
once, again, doyoung gulped.
what had he learnt?
well, he had had a mathematics class, just like he would have in the human realm.
but then, he had had a sports class, something that didn't exist in his realm.
and let's forget about the strategy class that consisted on learning about military strategies.
the human realm gave more importance to culture and wisdom than to strength and power.
there, you learned languages to communicate; economics, to deal; history, to understand the world...
there was no violence, no need to be strong and strategic.
that was for the demon realm.
now, was what he learned today interesting?
well, for someone who liked to know lots of things, sure, it was.
but it wasn't as entertaining as his classes in the human realm.
he had been completely exhausted in sports, and the strategies classes ahd completely lost him.
"w-well..." he stuttered. "it wasn't the most interesting day..."
"oh... let's hope it will be better tomorrow then!" his mother told with a comforting smile.
doyoung nodded slowly, despite knowing that it wouldn't be better tomorrow.
the next day would simply be a repetition of the day he had just lived.
he would be focusing on thigs that his realm didn't need.
he would be with people supposed to be his enemies.
and he would be somewhere far from home, where he didn't belong.
the king and the queen started talking about random subjects again, leaving doyoung alone in his thoughts for a while.
the human heir eventually found a question that was worth to ask, and so, he cut his parents' conversation on who they could invite for the next gala to ask it.
"do we have a... an army?" he spoke hesitantly.
the king's brows furrowed as he drank a sip of wine. "why would we need an army?"
"i don't know... to fight?"
"we live in peace, dear. there's no need to be violent." his mother added.
"not with everyone." doyoung corrected.
"what are you thinking about?"
"the demon realm." doyoung explained. "what will we do if they attack?"
the two adults exchanged looks, having a silent conversation together.
doyoung hadn't asked this question randomly, but they didn't need to know this.
the heir was starting to ask himself if telling his parents couldn't be the best idea. but they needed something to fight against the demon realm at least.
he hoped that his parents had an answer to his question.
he hoped that they had a plan to fight if the demon realm attacked them.
"well..." the queen spoke after a while. "if they attack...?"
"yes." doyoung nodded.
"we can't do anything. if they attack, it's the end of our realm."
needless to say, doyoung wasn't very satisfied by this answer.
