"doyoung, i love you, you know that?"

the human heir rolled his eyes at those flattering words before leaning in the embrace of the man holding him tight.

"i know. but you love yuta more." doyoung replied.

"it's a different kind of love, and you know it!" his best friend whined. "you don't love jaehyun like you love me."

"god no!" doyoung snorted. "i'd never be able to survive being your boyfriend. you're too whiny."

this remark made his receive a slap on the arm before both boys fell into a fit of giggles together.

"nah, but seriously, i don't know how you managed to make your parents change their mind, but it's the best thing that ever happened to us." sicheng stated.

"well, it was my death or the death of their pride." doyoung summed it up easily. "i'm glad they chose me."

"they haven't been regretting their decision, have they?" sicheng asked.

"they sometimes do. but most of the time, they think that it was a good idea." doyoung replied with a laugh.

it had been one week since doyoung's parents allowed both realms to get closer again.

doyoung didn't need too much time to get used to the changes, but it was very different for his parents.

he remembers this day they had been invited over to the demon realm, to have dinner with the royal family. they had been very surprised to see how the plates were composed of only juicy and bloody meat. they had eaten some anyway, but it had been hard for them to try – it was for doyoung too.

also, they were pleasantly seduced by the warm temperature of the demon realm. the king and the queen had, for one, been able to wear short-sleeved shirts, something that they had never done before.

"so? what do you plan on doing when you'll become the king?" sicheng asked with a smile.

"come on!" doyoung whined. "we're not going to have a royal speech now!"

"chill! i was just asking." sicheng chuckled. "it's just that i want to know... will you legalize inter-realm weddings? well, you'll need to if you need to get married to jaehyun."

doyoung gasped, slapping sicheng's arm as his cheeks coloured red.

he was still very shy, and the fact it had been formally announced that the heir of the human realm was in a relationship with the heir of the demon realm made everything worse.

he felt like, wherever he got, everybody was looking at him – which was the case.

"don't tell me you don't want to get married!" sicheng rolled his eyes. "i wouldn't believe you."

"you're just asking me that because you want to get married with yuta." doyoung scoffed.

"yeah, and? that's how things are supposed to go!"

doyoung shrugged. "maybe marrying him would be great."

"oh, trust me, it would be the best thing for you." sicheng nodded. "a wedding that unites both realms and ends completely the rivalry, and you get yourself a hot demon all for you, you get kids and raise them, proud to show them what you and your husband will have built together. and the little plus, you won't ever be cold again!"
