doyoung crossed the portal yuta had opened for the 30th time.

it had become a routine for him.

and he voluntarily crossed it to learn about the other realm.

him and jaehyun were fine now.

after jaehyun explained to him everything about taeyong, doyoung apologised himself and he kept the secret from the other demons.

this shared secret even brought the two heirs closer.

every time they would meet taeyong in the corridors, both heirs would exchange looks, doyoung silently pitying jaehyun, while the other gave doyoung a knowing look.

"woo!" yuta exclaimed, standing up and making the legs of his chair screech against the tiled floor of the classroom. "we have p.e. now!"

"yeah, well, no need to rip our ears for that reason..." jaehyun mumbled, standing up as well.

"do i have to go...?" doyoung asked with a pleading look.

he wasn't really the type to do sports.

mostly when you had to do sports with 30 demons who all aced at sports.

doyoung barely knew how to run 100 metres, and at the end, he would be completely out of breath.

"i'll ask to excuse you, don't worry." jaehyun replied, giving the human a quick smile, and making his heartbeat accelerate for a few seconds.

"t-tanks." doyoung smiled back brightly, earning a chuckle from jaehyun.

if doyoung had learned something during those 30 days, it was that jaehyun was an actual gentleman – when he wasn't using his scary and dominant persona of course.

doyoung was painfully aware – from day one – that jaehyun was a hot boy, having all the girls and even some boys swooning at his feet.

he felt kind of privileged to be hanging out all day long with him.

this had caused him to get a lot of attention at first, but now that it had been a month, people were starting to get used to it.

some of the girls still tsked whenever they saw doyoung clinging to jaehyun's side, but that's all.

doyoung didn't really blame them for their jealousy.

jaehyun was hot, handsome, kind and funny at the same time.

and on top of that, he was the heir of the demon realm, meaning that whoever ended with him would become the next queen of the realm.

what a way to get all the school at your feet.

but jaehyun didn't seem to be interested in any of them – to doyoung's biggest pleasure.

"sir, doyoung will stay on the bench today." jaehyun immediately said once he entered the gymnasium by doyoung's side.

"p.e. classes aren't optional, jaehyun." the teacher replied, eying the human strangely.

"and i could make you lose your job in a snap of fingers. but you don't see me doing it." jaehyun told, making the teacher and doyoung tense.

here he was again, using his power to scare the others.

that was hot – and mostly when it wasn't on doyoung he used his power, the human would say.

"h-huh..." the teacher stammered.

"don't forget who i am." jaehyun warned. "you're nothing next to me."

"y-yes sir." the p.e. teacher bowed slightly. "doyoung will stay on the bench for today's class."

"good."

with that said, jaehyun turned on his heels, doyoung following him quickly.

once they were metres away from the teacher, and heading to the changing rooms, doyoung started talking.

"don't you think you were a bit harsh on him...?" he asked, looking at the taller boy.

"it's the only way to earn what i want." jaehyun shrugged.

"i could have participated in the class, you know?" doyoung raised a brow. "i would have stayed behind and made sure to stay safe."

"yeah, but the best thing to keep you safe is to have you not participating at all." jaehyun replied, placing a hand on doyoung's shoulder.

"yes, but- "

"i'm doing that to protect you, doyoung."

"hey lovebirds!" yuta's voice interrupted their conversation. "time to get changed."

doyoung flushed beet red. "w-we're not..." he stuttered.

"come on." jaehyun simply said, telling him to follow him inside the changing rooms.

doyoung and jaehyun entered the boys changing rooms, immediately being met with the awful smell of sweat mixed with the sound of laugher and screams of joy. and to that was added the fact that the room was hot as hell due to the demons' bodies' temperature.

doyoung kept his head hung low, following jaehyun to his locker where he picked his clothes.

while waiting for jaehyun to get dressed, doyoung sat down on the bench, trying to prevent his eyes from looking around – but failing miserably.

the boys around him weren't really paying attention to him, too busy laughing together.

they were all either wearing only their underwear or their p.e. shorts.

and doyoung couldn't help but swooning over their muscular bodies.

it wasn't a legend, demons were hot, both literally and figuratively.

"chan, i think the human finds you hot." a boy exclaimed, bringing all the attention on doyoung who had been staring awfully long at a boy.

the whole assembly laughed as the boy – apparently chan – approached doyoung with a smirk.

"like what you see?" he asked, bending to get closer to the boy's face.

doyoung gulped, the demon's warmth suffocating him because of their proximity.

"no. he hates it." jaehyun intervened, pushing the boy away from the human, allowing him to breathe in some fresher air again. "and don't scare him like that."

"wow, jaehyun. he seemed to be interested. it's him you have to scold for staring at my body like that."the chan guy replied.

"well, he isn't." jaehyun declared. "end of the discussion."

with that said, jaehyun grabbed doyoung's wrist and pulled him out of the changing rooms, not caring about the way all the boys there were wiggling their brows and whistling at them.

"jaehyun..." doyoung called once they were back in the gymnasium. "why did you say that i wasn't interested in him?"

"you're interested in one of them?" jaehyun asked – a bit too harshly to doyoung's liking.

"n-no, of course not..." doyoung shook his head.

"then you have your answer."

and with that said, jaehyun walked away, the feeling of jealousy still present in his body, even if he wasn't aware of that.
