"yuta, why the hell is he in this state?"

"i didn't do anything! i swear!"

"i can see the bruise, idiot!"

"yes, but it was to bring him here."

"i told you to guide him there!"

"i did."

"you knocked him off!"

"he's here in the end."

"yuta..."

"yes?"

"are you fucking stupid?! do you know who his parents are?!"

"yes, but i though- "

"i can't believe i chose you..."

"come on, i'm not that bad."

"oh, yeah, sorry. you could have killed him, it's true."

"hey! i did what you asked me to do."

"yes, but not the way i asked you to do it!"

doyoung's mind regained consciousness slowly, but the boy didn't open his eyes right away.

he could feel his head hurting, but he didn't dare to move.

he had heard those two voiced having a conversation, and one of them was the boy that had put him in this state for sure.

needless to say, he was kind of scared to open his eyes.

"jae, he just moved, didn't he?"

doyoung cursed in his head.

the many layers of clothes he was wearing were suffocating him, and he needed to pull his collar down to breathe in a bit of fresh air.

but this meant he had to move.

and now that he had, they had seen him.

doyoung felt warmth approaching his body, and the pleasant yet kind of unfamiliar feeling made him open his eyes slowly.

he was greeted with two figures bending over him and looking at him with curious eyes, one of them being his aggressor.

"hello." the other said, a smile finding its place on his face.

doyoung let out a shriek of surprise, trying his best to back off and get away from these two strangers who were radiating heat.

as soon as he backed off, his head hit a wooden piece – the beautifully carved bedhead – making him dizzy again.

"wow, wow, wow..." the two boys approached him again. "calm down."

doyoung tried taking the deepest breaths he could despite his beating heart and his aching head.

he looked in panic at the two unknown figures.

"w-who are y-you...?" he asked. "w-where am i-i...?" he added, looking at his unfamiliar surroundings. "w-why am i h-hot? a-and why- "

"one question at a time." the unknown boy shushed him by placing his finger on top of his trembling lips.

doyoung slowly nodded, squinting his eyes to have a glimpse of the long finger that was resting on his mouth and burning his delicate lips.

"so." the boy said, pulling his finger away. "let's start by an introduction."

doyoung blinked a few times, looking at the two males with the same frightened look.

"i'm yuta." his aggressor said.

"and i'm jaehyun." the other male added. "i'm the heir of the demon realm."

doyoung's eyes widened as lots of things started to make sense in his mind.

the demon realm.

that's where he was.

he didn't know how the red sky hadn't made him realise it earlier.

and so, these two people were demons.

which explained why their bodies radiated such heat, and why he was hot.

however, one question – and the most important one – remained unsolved.

why the hell was he in the demon realm when he should be at school?

"h-h-huh..." doyoung let out, unable to form a phrase at the moment.

"you're surely asking yourself why you're here?" the yuta guy asked to which doyoung nodded slowly.

"as the heir of the human realm, i guess you've heard about how our two realms used to be one."jaehyun spoke. "well, this separation was a mistake. we want to prove the human realm that us, demons, are trust worthy, and that uniting the two realms would be the best option."

doyoung raised a brow slowly, tons of questions flashing into his mind.

however, his answer came out as natural, without him needing to think about an answer.

"humans won't forgive demons for everything they did. the separation happened for a reason, and it should remain this way. that's how we'll make our people happy."

he had heard his father having this speech thousands of times since his birth.

he knew these words as if they were a poem he had had to learn by heart.

he knew them as if they were their realm's anthem – because in a way, they were.

he had been raised like this, thinking that everything happened because of demons.

his parents had been raised like this too. and his grandparents as well.

everything had happened way too long ago.

at that point, no one really knew what really happened.

but every human knew that this was best for them.

"too bad you're our prisoner then..." jaehyun replied, his arms crossing over his chest.

"when my father will hear that, you'll have lots of problems." doyoung warned.

"you won't tell your father. you won't tell anyone actually." jaehyun stated.

"watch me."

"demons are ready to start a war." jaehyun said before the human could stand up from the bed.

this simple sentence caught doyoung's attention.

"w-what?"

"you know how the demon realm was the one in charge of the military before the separation. well, we are still innovating this sector. if you tell anyone, we'll start a war and crush the human realm." jaehyun explained way too calmly.

doyoung gasped. "y-you wouldn't dare..."

"watch me." jaehyun replied, moking the human – who didn't really need to know that it was all bluff.

as doyoung stayed silent, jaehyun imagined that he had won, and that he would be able to unroll his plan.

"so, little heir... every morning, yuta will bring you here before you reach school. and you'll be back into your realm before dinner." he explained.

"what is the point of this masquerade?"

"you'll surely be able to convince your parents that our realm is as peaceful and wonderful as yours. and this means that you'll be the one making your parents change their mind."
