"Ma, nandito na kami ni Papa Bear..." Tokyo's voiced trailed off when she saw almost of her Japanese relatives circling around the living of her grandmother's house. Her eyes roamed around the surroundings and noticed the rose petals on the floor.
"What's happening..." She asked her mother who immediately went to her. Just looking at her family members' faces, they seemed to look excited and happy.
"N-Nasaan si Riggy?" She asked her mother.
"Basta, pumunta ka sa gitna," her mother whispered to her, pushing her slighty to move forward, specifically in the middle. Mas lalo namang kumunot ang noo niya. She was now the center of attention of her family members' eyes. Even her grandparents were watching her getting confused at what was happening.
A few seconds later, Reagan suddenly appeared.
Bigla naman siyang nakaramdam ng kaba.
"Riggy, what's happening?" She asked him while glancing at her family's faces, like they were expecting something to happen.
Reagan then kneeled down on one knee.
She felt nervous even more.
"Riggy, t-tumayo ka, ano bang ginagawa mo..." She said and glanced at her family again. She gave them an awkward smile before looking back at her partner again.
"Habibi," he started and he was staring at her like she was the only woman in the house during that time, "I am not really good in this kind of stuff but I know we have been through a lot, since you were a law student and I was your professor, I know myself that I'm going to be crazily in love with you and now, it's deep, it becomes deeper and deeper day by day... and I know, you're the only woman that I want to spend the rest of my life with."
"I won't say anymore fancy words. God knows how much you mean to me, how much I love you... you've been with me for all these years now and I can't wait to be with you until we grow old and just knitting some winter sweaters at our balcony," her family members even laughed at his last sentence.
"Tokyo Takahashi, will you marry me?"
Everyone gasped when Reagan finally showed a diamond ring. Tokyo didn't know what to say and it seems like she just froze. Somehow, she could feel the sweat forming all over her neck. She looked at her mother who nodded at her, signalling her to answer Reagan's proposal. It seemed like her family's expectant faces were presssuring her to say yes at his proposal.
