Elrond pulled me to the side after dinner. "What do you know about your family?"

"Uh nothing. I was left on a doorstep so to speak and lived in foster homes my whole life." I said with a shrug.

"That's what I figured."

"Why does that matter?" I asked.

"Well...your world cannot...produce Travelers. They typically originate from other worlds. The most common being Middle-Earth.  And..something I'm fairly certain Tolkien didn't put n his books is that we are all colorblind."

"What..." I felt my heart drop but then shook it off, none of this is real. Remember?

"Until we find our soulmate. So..tell me are you colorblind?"

"Yes.." I stated, letting my eyes lower to look at my feet.

"I just thought you might've wanted to know that." Elrond said placing a hand on my shoulder.

I nodded. "Thank you. But may i ask...Are you colorblind as well?"

"Yes. Though I met my soulmate already, she died later and after her death I became colorblind again. Elves, since we live such long lives, can find our soulmate many times. It is the same soul, just reincarnated."

"Oh...well I hope you find yours again then." I said as Gandalf, Thorin, and Balin approached.

Great, I knew what conversation this would be.

"Moon runes." I whispered to Elrond before stepping back to allow them to speak.

I rolled my eyes as they argued about the map. Thorin looked over to me expectantly. I simply gave a nod of approval. As Elrond took the map he looked at me before lifting it to the moon light. Then he smiled, almost in disbelief.

I smiled confidently before walking away. Thorin's eyes trailed me till I was out of sight. I rushed back to the guest room they had offered me and started changing into something more travel worthy. Those dwarves were not leaving without me if I could help it. I found a pack of decent travel supplies and snuck down the halls till I found a small armory.

I grabbed a sword and a few knives to be safe before rushing down the halls till I heard deep dwarvish laughter. I turned a corner to find the dwarves around a small fire. Bombur had just broken the chair and they were laughing more. It wasn't long before Dwalin looked over to me.

"So you're really coming with us then?" Dwalin asked standing barely to my shoulder.

"I don't think you'll make it to the mountain without me." I smirked.

"Well then, welcome to the company." Dwalin said with a hand on my shoulder.

Everyone else cheered with deep voiced joy as I sat with them.

It wasn't long before Thorin and Balin had returned. "We leave soon, so get your rest." Thorin stated simply to everyone.

Thorin had spoke the truth, it felt like I had barely dozed off before Bofur was shaking us all awake. We took off towards the mountains shortly after. I stuck next to Bilbo, knowing he'd need the most help; and I just couldn't help but smile as he stopped to look back at Rivendell.

"You'll be back." I said.

Bilbo looked to me with a sad yearning in his eyes before Thorin called out.

"Come on! Or you'll be left behind!"

We seemed to go all day, though the day seemed short as the sky darkened with clouds and began to spit rain. It was so wet and the mountains were so dark. I almost thought that if I touched the rock that my hand would come away blackened, as if coal dust lay everywhere.

"We need to find shelter! Quickly! Trust me when I say we don't want to be out here too long!" I shouted as the rain began to come down harder.

"It's just storm, we'll be fine!" Thorin shouted back.

I groaned to myself, I didn't really feel like being tossed around by giants. I shoved past Fili and Kili to shout again.

"I'm serious! Just for a few hours! We shouldn't stay in these mountains long either!" I shouted over Balins shoulder.

Thorin looked to Balin then back to me. "If you're afraid of a little thunder then you should turn back!"

I could feel a sassy comment slide up to my tongue but Balin cut me off.

"Thorin! It wouldn't hurt to get some shelter. It's about that time anyways!" Balin said, the crack of lightning finishing his sentence.

Thorin was clearly none too pleased with me making suggestions. But he nodded and we hurried along. Just as we found a cave opening I glanced back to see large boulders being thrown. Luckily it was off in the distance. Maybe I could make the travel a lot easier. Maybe I could save them...
