Her face melted the frozen ice within my body. Her plump lips, curved into a sweetened smile as she laughed in serenity, a peaceful bliss as she danced around me. She was free spirited within my presence, while I was locked up in a bird cage, too scared to get out. She took my hand in hers, and opened the doors, giving me the taste of freedom, she felt.
"Quit peaking!" She giggled while sitting cross legged on the back of my pickup truck with nothing but the view of an ocean behind her. What a gorgeous sight.
We had a burgundy knitted blanket underneath us, scattered pencils, and iced coffee on our cool breezed date on a perfect day.
"Just show me," I whined and moved my fingers towards the paper she's been scribbling on for the last fifteen minutes. "I thought you said you were good at drawing," I teased.
She swatted my hand away and gave me a simple glare. "Good artists take their time, Kingsley. Do I have to give you another lesson on patience?" Her bright, baby blue eyes dared me, while her soft pink lips turned to a smile. She dipped her head back down to her paper and continued.
I smiled while watching her work. She was content and it made me happy.
"No ma'am, I'll be good," I surrendered with my hands lifted up in defense.
The crinkle of her nose peaked my interest, in awe of watching her create something. I was proud of her talents.
"Almost done," She murmured while scribbling secrets on the page.
I smiled, gazing at her while she had no clue that I was completely in love with her.
She glanced up and raised an eyebrow. "Ready, quiet boy?" She bit her lip.
I shook my thoughts away and reached my hands out to snag her art book away. I looked down. "A deer," I said.
"A doe," She corrected.
I investigated the page. An image of a doe from the neck up. It was very feminine with a small flower beside the left ear. It looked so realistic, which was impressive considering it was a small piece of art, about half the size of her hand. If this was what she could do in almost twenty minutes, she certainly deserved to be in galleries.
The doe head was sporting big, innocent eyes and it clicked in what she was insinuating.
I smiled and turned it around to face her, tapping my index finger against the page. "How many times have I told you that you had doe eyes?" I asked, waiting for her answer to see if my guess was correct.
"A few," She smiled.
"What's my reward?" I smirked and reached out to grab the side of her face.
She pulled back and placed a face of devious. "Patience, Eli," She teased. "Your reward is the drawing."
I set the book down and pulled her into a soft, but hungry kiss. "You, pretty girl. You're a prize."
I kissed her lips, jawline, neck, cheeks, and eyes. She giggled at my enthusiasm. I was head over fucking heels for this girl, she really had no idea how madly in love I was with her.
"I'm going to save this forever," I grinned.
"I'll hold you to that," She bit her lip and grinned with her white, straight teeth. "Elias Kingsley," She sang. "Are you at a loss for words?"
I gave a chuckle and looked down for a moment. I wanted to tell her, but she had me almost choked up. She'd know soon, just how much she meant to me.
