"It's absolutely terrifying, the kind of deep suffering the happiest looking people are able to hide inside themselves".

______________~~~~~~~~~______________CHAPTER THIRTEEN
_GREED_JASON'S POV
***
I watched Riele enter a cab with her two friends. She seemed to be following those girls all around since she started this school. After she left my class, I still wondered what discussion she'd had with Lilian. I personally wouldn't advice her spending time with Lilian because Lilian could be bad influence. Glancing at my wrist watch it was already quarter past three pm. Aunty Mbola still hadn't picked me up yet especially after she insisted earlier on picking me up from school along with her children. I hated it when I was being taken to school or picked up from school. It made me feel like a ten year old boy when in actual sense I'm seventeen turning eighteen. I laughed at that thought. It reminded me of the sound of music.
'I am seventeen turning on eighteen I'll take care of you...'"Who are you taking care of?" Lilian asked as she smacked my blemish free arm.
"What! was I singing that out loud?" I asked. I actually thought I was singing the song in my mind.
"Yes, you were also smiling broadly". Lilianc was beaming at me.
"Shit!" I cursed out.
"Hey, when did you start cursing". She exclaimed opening a pack of snickers chocolate. Often times I wondered if this girl ever stopped eating, her mouth was always moving. It's either she's talking or eating something.
"You want some?" She offered after opening the pack.
"Sure, who wouldn't want Snickers". I smiled broadly who am I not to accept snickers. Still munching on my snack, I remembered Lilian had a conversation with Riele earlier that day.
"What were you discussing with Riele today?" I inquired while playfully shoving Lilian's shoulder.
"Who's Riele?" She asked as she scrunched up her nose.
"You don't know Riele? The girl you talked to during break-time today". I reminded her with folded arms and a questioning brow.
"Oh, we were talking about you." She smiled mischievously.
"About me?" I asked giving her a wry smile and continued "so, tell me what exactly it is".
"Yes you and I'll do well not to be a snitch. Do you need coke? My goods are arriving this week". She asked changing the topic without efforts.
"Yes I do. I'm already running out of it". I told her. To be honest I wasn't very uncomfortable talking about drugs in public. I would rather order online.
"Okay, I'll bring it for you on Monday. How much do you need?"
"Twenty grams will do". I said rubbing the back of my head slightly.
"Alright then".
Thankfully, the familiar honk of aunty Mb's toyota camry helped me out of conversing with Lilian. I shoved the empty pack of the snickers chocolate I just had into the breast pocket of Lilian's blazer, blew her an air kiss and took long strides to my cousin's car. I heard Lilian yell but I decided to block her words. I opened the passenger side of the car and stepped in.
"Who's that girl". Aunty Mb asked eyeing me slowly as she started the engine of the car. The car hummed a little and she started driving.
"She's a friend". I told her calmly looking out at the familiar surroundings I'd gotten used to seeing for the past five years of my life and counting probably.
