"This is wrong Sasuke"
"It's just harmless flirting, we weren't going to go all the way...unless you wanted to..."
Sasuke paused in his search for the first-aid kit for a moment, to look over at Naruto to see how he'd react to his words. "It's wrong! I know how it feels to be cheated on, and I could never do what you did to someone else, let alone Shikamaru"
Sasuke rolled his eyes in irritation at Naruto's words, sighing he opened up the drawer next to the sink, finding the first-aid kit he opened it up. "I made a mistake, but this isn't a mistake Naruto, you should just break up with Shikamaru, I love you and I know you still have feelings for me" he stated, while taking a cloth and wetting it some.
Naruto got quiet after that, looking down at his hand lost in thought "I think you should leave Sasuke". Grabbing what he needed, Sasuke began to make his way out of the kitchen "no I'm not going anywhere" he said angrily, refusing to go he was determined to stand his ground.
"I said yes to Shikamaru, so just go"
Raven eyes widened in disbelief before narrowing with anger "your lying" he scoffed, halting in his steps towards the blonde. Naruto turned to look at Sasuke, for the first time that night, he took a moment to take in Sasuke's facial expression, though it was slightly dark he could see just how many emotions swirlied in those onyx eyes; anger,disbelief, worry, and hurt.
"I'm not..."
Looking over at the coffee table that separated the two of them, stood a black box, Sasuke followed Naruto's eyes to the coffee table to see the box. Turning away from him, Naruto looked back out the window. The room fell quiet for a moment, soon the sound of something hitting the table echoed in the room, following the sound was rushed footsteps and the door slamming shut. Naruto bit his bottom lip that had started to quiver, turning around he was met with an empty room.
Looking down he saw the supplies for his hand on the table, taking a seat on the couch, he grabbed the damped cloth and wrapped it around his injured hand. 'This is for the best' he reassured himself, as he began cleaning himself up.
"Before you go, I have something to tell you..." he called out to the brunette who was about to leave.
"Hm? What is it?"
"About your proposal I-"
"It's ok Naru, I already said I'd wait for you no matter how long it takes" he smiled, though anyone who saw it, would clearly be able to see the sadness it held, but was covered in a fake smile.
"Yes"
"Excuse me?"
"My answer is yes...yes I'll marry you Shikamaru"
Brown eyes widened in excitement for a moment, jumping into tan arms, he smiled a genuine happy smile in the blondes chest. "I promise to make you happy" he whispered, hugging tighter. "I know" Naruto whispered back, looking down at his ring finger blankly.
Wrapping his fingers in bandages, he leaned back into the soft cushions of his couch, looking down at his bandaged hand vacantly.
'This is safe...'
Closing his eyes, he brought his hand up his neck, his fingers lightly grazed every spot Sasuke had kissed.
