Normal P.O.V

"So...I got proposed to today..." Sasuke looked at Naruto from the corner of his eye, his face blank, he clenched his jaw and swallowed the lump that was forming in his throat. "Congratulations..." he said bitterly, he didn't care if he didn't sound sincere, because to be frank he hated that he had witnessed it, sure it's selfish to think that way, but he didn't care.

Sasuke's tone didn't go unnoticed to Naruto, but regardless the blonde chose to ignore it. "Thank you..." he mumbled, Naruto leaned back getting a bit more comfortable in the seats. "Sasuke..." he whispered, Sasuke hummed in response. "Do you remember when, early in our relationship we'd stay up late, and we-I talked about what our wedding would be like?"

A small smile came to the raven's face, he did remember those nights, they'd be cuddled up in bed, and Naruto would go on and on, while Sasuke listened and read his book at the same time. Back then he may have found those times a bit annoying, for his mind would sometimes be elsewhere mainly focused on work, but sitting in the taxi car with Naruto now, how he would kill to go back to those times and give Naruto all the attention he deserved.

Naruto smiled "I felt like we were so close back then..." he looked up at the sky light window in the taxi, as he watched the stars pass, flashbacks of those memories played in his head. "You'd tease me for wanting a white suit saying how I didn't have to look like a 'bride' but I'd always say that I wouldn't mind being a 'bride' since I was with you..." a sad chuckled escaped his lips.

"Gosh you don't know this, but when you were working, I'd go out to a different cake shop every day and have a wedding cake tasting, I know you don't like sweets so I wanted to find a cake that would be just right for you, something sweet but not too sweet it'd be just right" he laughed a bit at his own words "saying it out loud sounds so silly, you probably think it's ridiculous"

"I-why did you?-" Sasuke began, but found himself at a loss for words. "Why'd I do it?" Naruto looked over at Sasuke reaching out to him, he placed his hand on the raven's cheek. A bittersweet smile came to the blonde's face as tears rolled down his face. "Because I love-loved you, and I would have done anything for you Sasuke..."

Sasuke was amazed to say the least, his heart raced at Naruto's words, he could feel his cheeks heat up. 'What is this feeling? My chest feels kind of tight, and I feel so overwhelmed all of a sudden' he thought. They stared into each other's eyes for a moment, neither of them dared to make a move on the other.

Sasuke glanced at Naruto's hand which still rested on his cheek, taking a deep breath Sasuke brought his hand up to touch Naruto's, his fingers brushed against Naruto's for only a second, that's all it took for Naruto to pull away. Turning away from the raven, he sniffled a bit and wiped his face, regaining his composure.

Sasuke stared at Naruto's back, he thought about reaching out to touch him, but decided against it. About to speak, Naruto beat him to it. "Sasuke, why are you in Kyoto?" he spoke earnestly, Sasuke could see his unsmiling face in the reflection of the window.

"I-it's for work" he lied. Naruto nodded his head "I see..." the blonde mumbled. The car came to a stop "were here sir" the taxi driver spoke, Naruto paid the man as he stepped out the car, he paused in his movements. "Hey Sasuke..."

"Hm."

"I don't know why I'm telling you this, but...when Shikamaru proposed to me, I couldn't give him an answer, I told him I need to think about it...my answer is neither yes or no..."

Sasuke's eyes widened and his heart fluttered.

"Take care, teme..."
