Laugh!

The saying 'laughter is the best medicine' isn't wrong. I quite agree. Sometimes when I laugh, I get so winded that my neck hurts and I can barely breathe and as grotesque as it sounds, I love the feeling. That's pure joy searing through my bones and my body can barely contain it.

Imagine being that happy! Why wouldn't I want it?

And that's the challenge for today!

Philippians 4:4 says, 'Rejoice in the Lord always.' As God's children, He expects us to always live happy and joyous lives. That's why He tells us to rejoice no matter what. "What if there's nothing to rejoice about?" you may ask. Well, sis rejoice all the same! You have to make up your mind to maintain a joyful spirit even in the midst of circumstances.

So what are we doing today?

We're laughing! Go somewhere quiet, or where people are (they may think you're crazy tho lol) and just... laugh. Really. Just laugh. Laugh your way through whatever challenges you face.

Kind of a confusing request?

It's strange to ask but you need to draw joy from your Spirit and rejoice each day of the beautiful life God has give you.

Here's how I do it:

I go somewhere quiet and begin to reminisce of moments of my life that God intervened that I didn't think about then. I think about my mistakes and regrets. And I begin to laugh because, one, what on Earth was I thinking? And two, what would I have done if Jesus wasn't there with me? And I just laugh because of the joy I feel knowing that it's my past and I have a new heart in Christ Jesus.

Another way I do it, is to listen to a song I really love. Sometimes when I sing, I look at my reflection and I can see the look of joy spreading across my face, making it difficult for me to even say the words because my cheeks want to split in two :) And I just laugh because indeed, the Lord is good. I listen to songs like 'Promises by Maverick City Music' ,' No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus by Steffany Gretzinger', 'Daily by Cortes feat. Cass', 'No Fear by Se Ok' and so many more great songs.

So, give it a go.

Rejoice in the Lord always!
