Forgive and Forth Year

Remus

Lily came back in and I greeted her by asking,"So, verdict?"

"I think..I think you deserve to scream at him.. But I think after you're done screaming, you should forgive him, or at least try to start."

I sighed heavily and rubbed my face with my hands. "Right.."

"I know this is difficult, rem."

"Mhmm, I know, but no matter how much it hurts for me, he does.. Deserve to be forgiven. He was my best friend."

"was.. " she said sadly. "Oh, remus.."

"I'm almost there, lily.."

"I know."

"Still going to scream at him."

She nodded. "Fair."

Sirius

I attempted to do my homework. Everything took a long time to do. All I felt like doing was staring at nothing or researching animagus. I tried to force myself to read one more sentence

but even that was too hard. Except this time it was because the very person I hurt passed by my dorm room door. His room was closer to the stairs, meaning he never passed my door.

I stared at the doorway as if it would will him into coming back. Despite my wishes, I was surprised when he passed by again. I noticed he held a cup of water.

He passed a third time, this time without the water. I stood up. I cleaned up my work, knowing I wouldn't be able to do it anyway.

The fourth time he glanced at me and our eye contact was more communication than I've had with him in almost a month.

The fifth he stopped and we just stared for a few seconds at each other. "Sirius.."

"Um, hey." It was a little awkward.

He sighed. "What the fxxk is wrong with you."

It wasn't a question. I didn't know what I was expecting him to say but that wasn't really it. "Uh.."

He sighed again. "I'm mad at you. That was terrible. Do you know what could've happened, sirius?"

"Snape could've died.. You could've been expelled."

He laughed bitterly. "I would've killed him. The ministry doesn't care about me. They would put me in Azkaban if that happened and they found out. Azkaban! The whole reason I wanted to keep this a secret from everyone but I trusted you. I trusted you, sirius! Tell me right now why I should forgive you!"

I pretended to rub my forehead and used my hand to hide my eyes as if he couldn't still see me crying. "Um.."

"Tell me! Right now!"

"Your -you um.."

"What! I'm your best friend, hmm? Do best friends do that?"

"I know I w-wasn't- um.." I coughed in my tears. "I do regret it, r-remus.. S-sorry isn't enough, but i'm sorry." i took a breath and attempted to collect my thoughts. "I'd do anything to make up with you."

"Anything?"

"Anything for you, m- remus."

He frowned in confusion. "Why didn't you call me moony then?"

"Nicknames are a friend thing, a trust and comfort thing. I broke your trust."

"I came in here planning to yell at you, I guess I didn't end up doing much yelling... I'm still mad at you.. But you mean a lot to me, Sirius, and despite this, you are one of my best friends. So, I forgive you. I miss you too much."

"Thank you, moony!" I smiled weakly at him. He hesitated and then hugged me.

Sirius

I boarded the train. Thank merlin the summer was over.

"Jamsieee" i said slipping into the seat beside him

"Sirius.. Ie!" he attempted

"Babe no."

He pouted jokingly. "But sirius"

"My name does not work like that."

He made a face. "Jamie sounds bad too."

"True, how about we still to pads and prongs."

"Deal."

"Already dealing? The school year hasn't even begun!" i heard remus say

I looked up and lost whatever words I had. Remus had always been a bit tall but now.. He had grown over the summer. Tall and lanky. Tall and.. Hot. I coughed.

James laughed beside me. "Sirius, i know remus is hot but calm your gay panic a little."

I felt my cheeks become redder. I shoved him playfully. "Shut up."

Remus just looked confused. "Oh..kay then." he sat across from me and stretched.

I scowled at him. "You know what you're doing."

He raised a brow. "No, sirius, i don't. I'm literally acting the exact same."

I was saved from having to explain my gay with peter coming in.

"Hi guys!"

"'Lo!" james greeted

"Peter! Thank merlin. Tell Remus that he's hot." i'm stupid, i didn't just take the change of subject

Peter looked from me to Remus and back again. "Uh.. what?"

"Sirius is being gay as always, remus grew."

Peter tilted his head. "Oh, yeah he did grow. Huh."

"Peterrr!! Save meee." i pouted

"From yourself or from remus? Remus is the same, pads."

"My honor, pete! I'm always right!"

"I already agreed with you! What are you arguing about!" James protested.

"Our dear moon doesn't think he's hot."

Moony was slightly blushing. "If I agree I'm hot, can we move on?"

"Aw, is moony blushing?"

James gasped. "I wanted to move on, but now that he's blushing~"

sirius

Me and James walked to lunch when we saw Reg pass. Regulus still didn't talk much to me outside of the Black living place. I saw james follow reggie with his eyes in an appreciative way.

"Nah! Jamesss!"

He snapped his eyes to me. "Wha- what?"

"You are looking at my brother like how I looked at Remus on the train."

"Not my fault your brother is hot."

"That is just false."

"Have you seen your brother?"

I fake gagged. "Ew, James, I am not like the rest of my family. Besides, you only like him because he looks like me."

He snorted and shoved me. "Shut up, if i end up being your brother in law, you'll be happy."

I stopped walking.

"What?" he stopped

I covered my mouth with my hands in realization. "Aw, actually that would be so nice."

"What?"

"Your parents would be his in laws and so they would be mine too! And you would be my brother and aww."

"So.. you approve?"

"No! You can't-" I paused to study him. "Wait, do you actually like him??"

He avoided my eyes. He scoffed. "No."

I narrowed my eyes. "Right.."

"We're uhh going to be late."

"For lunch?"

"Yup!"
