"Sirius, it's 10 am." remus said
"I don't understand how Sirius is both a morning and night person." peter commented
I sighed dramatically. "I'm fluid like that."
Remus rolled his eyes. "Anyway, I think the map needs to be able to track people, everyone, even new people who come, maybe even the ghosts. But not any animals besides animagus. I don't want to know about all the siders.
"So we need to find a way to track humans and then also figure out a way to identify them?" james asked
"yeah, i guess."
"We should have a password." i said
Peter smiled excitedly, "Ooh yes, I love passwords."
"You always forgot your passwords." james pointed out
Peter sighed "Just don't change them so much!"
"Okay, okay, well what should it be, the password?" remus tried to get us back on track
"Marauders!" peter suggested
"Nah, something less obvious." i said
"mischief"
"We should have a phrase to lock it too."
"It should just look normal when we lock it!"
"How will we know which is it?" peter asked
"Just make sure you don't mix it up!" i said
I could tell James was starting to fill with excited energy. "Okay okay, we should sign it, so when we pass it down, they'll know it was us."
"Pass it down?" peter asked
"Well, we won't be at Hogwarts forever!" i pointed out, james excitedly energy becoming contagious.
"Okay, guy- um you all, marauders,
"Wait.. we should plot that damn cat." James said, with the irritation of all the times it caught us.
"Mrs norris?" peter asked
"Yeah." i said
"But not all cats thats too many" james added
"Okay just one cat and all humans" remus said

AN: some ppl say mrs norris is actually human (bc of the human-like name) but the charm they used (possibly made by them?) was supposed to track humans, even animagus, but why does it track her? To make it simple i just made the cat have a separate spell and made the spell made by someone else

"Guys!" Sirius yelled, much to the annoyance of the librarian. We came over. "The Homonculous Charm, a charm that, when cast onto a map, would enable its possessor to track the movements of every person in the mapped area, through labelled dots that moved around the parchment! This is perfect!"
"Wow, this is turning out easier than expected, does it work on ghosts and animagus?"
"On second" sirius flipped through the book he was skimming, Obscure Mapping Spells for the Home. "oh merlin it does."
"Great, now for the other million things you all wanted to add." i sighed
"Million?" James said with mock offense. He mentally counted the things we needed to add. "It's only like 5 things"
