Corbyn's POV
"How was it?" Jasmine asked as I joined her on the couch.
I shook my head and turned off the television. Jonah looked up from his phone with a tiny smirk. "You didn't enjoy yourself?"
I shot a glare at him and Zach laughed. "Don't be so happy about it."
"The date was fine," I snapped as Jack handed me a drink. "He's been following me and will keep it up until I do what he says."
"Then do it," Jonah said.
"I can't," I groaned. "We're in a good place right now. As soon as anything happens we're dead."
"Just hear me out," Zach pleaded and I looked at him expectantly.
"This better be good," Jonah muttered and I kicked him.
Zach didn't acknowledge him and stayed focused on me. This had to be serious. Usually he had a sarcastic comment or something but now he had a little sadness in his eyes. He leaned forward. "Say it doesn't get done before tours start. We're performing for our fans and they decide it's time to strike. Not only do we hurt ourselves. We could kill our fans. I know this is the least positive thing someone could add to this but we have to be realistic."
I knew where he was coming from with this but I knew this could go badly regardless. I took a sip of juice and shrugged. "Okay. If we're being realistic," I sighed and Daniel raised an eyebrow. "I go through with it and cover my tracks. He knows we did it. We hurt people regardless."
"So it's a loss either way," Jack mumbled.
"I guess it's a risk you may have to be willing to take," Jasmine said.
Madison's POV
When Corbyn dropped me off at the house he left saying he had a meeting with the manager. I was now sitting at the dining room table with Jonah and Jack playing a game of poker. When we finished, Jonah left to help write a song with Eben. "Can I ask you something?"
Jack nodded as he led me to the couch. I curled up in a blanket and looked at him. "My sister would love to get to know you."
"Is this a setup?" Jack asked with a smile.
I shook my head but he didn't seem to believe me. "She's the twin right?" He asked.
"Yeah," I replied and burrowed under the blanket.
Jack frowned when he saw me. "Are you feeling okay?"
"Just a headache" I sighed, "but I'm sure it's fine."
"Let me get you something for it. Should be in our upstairs bathroom," Jack said and got up. "And you can give her my number by the way."
I was laying on the couch waiting for Jack to come back when Zach walked in. As soon as he saw me he groaned. "Still here I see," he muttered.
"Is there a problem Herron?" I asked. "What has you so pissed at me all of a sudden."
Zach didn't reply, but at this point, I didn't really care. I was about to continue what I was watching when he approached me. "I didn't expect you to stick around. You'll be the one who ruins it all for us."
"Ruins what?" I asked, getting defensive.
Zach seemed to realize he'd said too much and turned around, but not before sending an insult my way. I went back to my movie, not wanting to let Zach get to me. Ten minutes passed and the door swung open. I sat up and saw Daniel with a bloody nose and doubled over in pain. I jumped to my feet and ran over to him. "What happened?"
Daniel didn't reply and I noticed how pale he was. I put an arm around his waist to keep him from falling. "Do you need to lie down?"
Jack appeared and his jaw dropped when he saw Daniel. "Maddie, I want to talk to..." Corbyn's voice trailed off when he saw his best friend. "Dani?"
"Let's talk somewhere else," Jack said as he looked at me.
Corbyn took Daniel into his arms and they left the room. That was odd. I decided to believe that the boys were being honest with me but it was hard. I took the medicine Jack brought and dozed off.
Corbyn's POV
I had Daniel sit on the edge of the bathtub and knelt in front of him with a damp towel. "What happened out there? I told you to observe not get in an altercation."
Jack stood against the door with his arms across his chest as he watched us. I couldn't tell if he was mad or stressed. "Why does he always do everything for you?" He asked.
"He doesn't but you know damn well what happened when I tried to put you in charge," I snapped and Jack glared at me. I looked back at Daniel. "Well?"
Daniel winced as I wiped the blood off his face. "That's what I did. Then I was walking home and they jumped me. Corbyn you can't keep avoiding this. I know we're in a good spot but we need to get this done before tours start."
I hated that he was right. He was my right-hand man and I knew I had to listen to him about this. "Fine, I'll call Evans right now."
Jack ran a hand through his hair and I could tell something was on his mind. "You good buddy?"
"Zach and Maddie are up to something. I have no idea what. I think they made a deal together," he told me.
"Those two hate each other," I said as I cleaned a wound on Daniel's neck.
Jack shrugged as he knelt beside us. "Those two are working together. You have to trust me on this."
