Akaashi fiddled with his fingers nervously as he waited for the elevator to reach the ground floor. He pulled out his phone to check the time, frowning in distress when he realized it had been five minutes since he had received a call from Bokuto. Tapping his foot he prayed for the stupid elevator to move faster, because his date had been waiting for five minutes already, and he didn't want to make him wait any longer. If only he had taken the stairs he wouldn't have been this late. God, Akaashi was freaking out. This was only their first date and he was fucking late-
The elevator gave a small ding and Akaashi broke into a run the moment the doors opened. He dashed out of the building and looked around frantically, trying to spot a black Range Rover. A car honked in the distance, causing him to jump in his skin and let out a high-pitched shriek, and then a door was being shut and a man was laughing. Very attractively.
Oh. I know that laugh.
“Akaashi, oh my god!” Bokuto breathed out in between laughs as he walked towards him in his elegant grey suit. “I'm so sorry for scaring you! Are you alright?”
Akaashi's cheeks turned crimson. “Bokuto!” He hid his face behind his hands so the Alpha wouldn’t see his flaming cheeks. “Oh god! The date hasn't even started yet, and I'm already embarrassed as hell.”
A pair of warm hands wrapped around his wrists and soon after he was staring right into those melted pools of gold.
“You're really adorable, you know that?” Bokuto said, tucking a strand of hair behind his ear gently. “I can't believe I'm going out on a date with you. I'm like, the luckiest Alpha ever.”
“Stop that!” Akaashi whined.
“Nuh-uh! You're really cute when you’re embarrassed.”
“Bokuto!”
Bokuto chuckled quietly before moving his big hands down to his tummy. “Anyway, how are you? How's our little one?”
Akaashi instinctively leaned in to the Alpha's warmth and brushed the tip of his nose against his jaw. “We're okay. How about you?”
“Now that I'm with you guys? Amazing.”
For a moment they just stood there all wrapped up in each other, their hair blowing in the gentle March breeze. Akaashi didn't ever want to leave Bokuto's embrace, because he felt so safe, so protected and so at home surrounded by the leathery scent of this Alpha, and his baby was also feeling comforted in the presence of its father. Giving in to his Omega instincts (and his baby's silent persistence) he snuggled even closer to Bokuto, pressing their bodies together, and let him wrap those strong arms around his waist, continuing to just fill his lungs with the reassuring scent. He had to admit both himself and his baby were happier when Bokuto was around.
“I could probably stay like this forever and be happy.” He blurted out, not even caring that he was letting his emotions show. Normally he would go mad over saying something like that.
Bokuto hummed contentedly. “I couldn't have said it any better, Kaashi. But we should get going, we wouldn't wanna miss our reservation, huh?”
“Yes.” Akaashi pulled back from the embrace with reluctance before slipping his hand into Bokuto's bigger one. “Let’s go, then. We're starving over here.”
Bokuto raised an eyebrow at him, the right corner of his lips tilting up teasingly. “Starving, huh? You didn't really look starved while we were hugging, though.”
