Taking Control of Panic

Chapter 12

I woke up and when I noticed that it was still dark outside, I groaned. 2:45am. Great. I got up, knowing that I wouldn't be able to sleep and walked around the house. 'What should I do?' I asked myself. 'I could go to the field.' That sounded like a good idea, so I grabbed my jacket and slowly snuck out the door.

It was chilly out, but overall, a beautiful night. There were no clouds and the moonlight was strong. I jumped over the small creek and looked up to see the field's lights on. I looked closer, but could not make out who the silhouette was. They were at the punching bags and doing very well, from the looks of it.

"Hello?" I called out to the person.

"Ranboo?" The voice questioned. I immediately recognized the soft voice as Niki's. "Why are you here?"

"I guess I could ask the same for you." I laughed.

"Got in a fight with dad, so I needed to blow off some steam. Now, why are you here?"

"Couldn't sleep." I said as she nodded.

"What are you training on?"

"I want to get better with a bow. I need some work on it."

"Okay. Tell me if you need any help." She said and went back to the punching bag.

I managed to get three bulls eyes before I heard a loud groan from the forest. I looked at Niki and she looked just as shocked. I saw the creature step into the lighting of the field and stood in shock. There was a giant monster that seemed to be covered in....blood?

"Uh.... Niki? What is that?"

"What the hell? The barriers were supposed to protect us!" She yelled angrily and backed up to grab armor and a sword. "Ranboo. I need you to listen carefully. Under no circumstance can you fight this." She said in a quiet voice to not aggravate the monster. "Stay back and notify the others of a code yellow. Use your arrows to help." She said as she walked towards the monster and slashed at it's foot.

I quickly grabbed my necklace and pressed the yellow button watching the screen turn yellow and vibrate. I quickly loaded an arrow and aimed for the monster trying to help out Niki who was picking up water and hurdling at the creature. The water seemed to sizzle and burn(?) the flesh of the creature.

I managed to hit the creatures' leg, but it didn't seem to affect it. I saw Niki being pushed back by the creature as she yelled, "Code red!" I quickly pressed the red button and continued shooting it, but nothing was working. Maybe I could test my power on it. I stared into the eyes that appeared to be bright red. There were three eyeballs, but I tried my best. It seemed to work as I heard Niki slashed at the monster. My eyes burned, but I tried my best. "Just a little longer Ranboo!!" She yelled as I tried to push away the burning sensation, but I couldn't. I blinked and shook my head as a wave of dizziness took over me. I was pulled down as the dizziness continued.

"Niki!" I heard Tommy and another voice yell as he ran to help Niki.

"Ranboo!" I heard another person yell as he ran over to me. "Are you okay?"

"Dizzy." Is all I could spit out.

"Okay, lean back." they said as I did as told and laid on the person's lap. They put their hands in my hair and it helped calm the dizziness a lot. "Better?"

"Yeah. Thank you-" I said and opened my eyes to see who helped me, "-Wilbur."

"Of course. I'm going to go help Niki. I'll be right back." He said as I sat up so he could leave. I saw Tommy and Technoblade fighting the monster and Niki was sitting further back with her legs pulled to her chest. Phil joined to help get the last hit and Tubbo ran over to me.

"Boo!" I heard Tubbo shout as he tackled me in a hug. "Are you okay?"

"Yeah. Is Niki okay?"

"Yeah. She's got pretty deep cuts on her arm and legs and lost a lot of blood, but Wilbur will heal it."

"I'm bringing Niki back to the house!" Wilbur shouted as he carried Niki. We all got up to follow as Tubbo and Tommy clung to my side.

Wilbur laid Niki on the couch as Phil alerted Jack and Fundy that everything was safe again. We all left Will and Niki alone as we ran up to Tommy's room.

"What the actual fuck happened? Give us the whole story." Tommy demanded. Tubbo felt my nerves from Tommy's anger and sat closer to me.

"I left the house because I couldn't sleep. I saw Niki training in the field, so I trained with her until I heard a noise in the woods. She grabbed armor and a sword and told me that I couldn't fight it and to stay back. I alerted the code yellow and saw her struggling as she yelled for a code red. I tried shooting it with arrows, but it didn't do much. I managed to use my control of lightness and darkness, but not for long. After I couldn't stare any longer, I got really dizzy and that's where you all showed up."

"How did it break through the barriers?" Techno asked Phil.

"I don't know. We'll have to go over and patch up the error tomorrow. For now, we all had a rough morning. Get some sleep." Phil said as he and Techno left.

"Can I stay with you two tonight?" Tommy asked and we nodded.

We huddled close, scared at the thought that someone could've died. I relaxed as both of the two's breathing slowed down and felt the wave of sleep take over my tired body.

A/N: Aha. Fuck. You all are going to hate me. So, basically, I have lost all motivation for this story and forgot about it. I've decided that I'm just going to end it here :( Thank you all so much for your wonderful support.
