I started writing this months ago so it's kind of every where. There's not a strong plot but it's dialogue heavy and shows how they work at practice together a little bit like some of you have asked me about.

Carli, who was actually having fun at practice for once, stops laughing with her teammates and watches Alex, about 20 yards away, push Kelley O'Hara to the ground for seemingly no reason. Alex plops down on the bench saying something to the now pretty grumpy defender. Kelley only chooses to retaliate with her words before walking off towards the water coolers.
"Hey, hey-" Carli starts to take her mic off while getting a media person's attention- "can you take this off? Or like turn it off? I'll finish practice with it but I need it off for a minute." The guy carefully- but not quick enough in the mother's mind- gets it off of her.
"We got enou-"
"Yeah, thanks." Carli waves behind her as she walks quickly to Alex. The girl hasn't done anything like that in ages. She'd been pretty snappy at breakfast and a bit short during the session but to push someone... to push her best friend? Unheard of.
Even though she's looking down, Alex knows who's in front of her by the footsteps and cleats. It's the last person she wants to talk to- well now ONE of the last people she wants to talk to. "Go away, I'm resting."
"I'm resting too." Carli sits down beside her. She looks at her expectingly, but Alex keeps her head down. "I saw you push Kelley. What is up with you today? You're being rude."
"You're being nosey."
"Alexandra-" Carli counts to three in her head- "you do not talk back to me. That is unacceptable."
"Hope being here is unacceptable."
Carli blinks at Alex's accusation. Hope is just here visiting for the kids' sakes. She's apologized and moved on from what happened. One part of the statement is more troubling though... "Is it Hope or mom to you, Lexi? Either one is okay, but I need to know your mindset on that."
Alex mulls over the question. She knows the answer but she's feeling so mad right now.
"How about I ask it yes or no and you can just shake your head? You seem to be feeling some big emotions right now that might make talking hard. Is Hope still your mom?" After a second, Alex nods her head but still doesn't look at Carli. "Okay, we can talk about that more later when you're not feeling this way, but for now I'm going to use that answer." Alex doesn't respond at all so Carli keeps talking. "What just happened between you and Kel? Tell me so I can help you."
"She said she was happy Hope's here."
Carli nods even though she really doesn't understand, "why did that make you push her? Pushing is against our rules."
