"Why is she over there doing that?" mutters Hope finishing her squat reps. "She's done that same exercise circuit twice the amount of what everyone else is doing."

Carli adjusts the weight to her regimen and whispers back, "she's not squatting. That's the replacement for whatever reason." The keeper raises an eyebrow at the middy. "Hey, I'm not the one in charge of that. Just let her be. She'll be fine."

"Why isn't she just squatting though?" Carli doesn't respond because she's busy trying to execute the exercise right and count at the same time. "She normally does, doesn't she? She didn't tell us she's hurt."

"Hope, I don't-"

"Julie!" Hope reaches out and lightly hits her daughter in the arm to gain her attention. Carli rolls her eyes at being cut off and goes back to focusing. "Why isn't Christen doing squats?"

"Hey, she's supposed to be counting for me," complains Emily still jumping up and down on a box. "You're being distracting."

"Sonnet I will cru-"

"Hey," interrupts Julie to stop the threat coming from her mother's mouth, "she fell down or something when she was training at home and she's scared now. I think she's just being a baby."

Carli puts the weight back in the rack but scolds, "Don't call her na-"

"She is being a baby."

"Hope!" Carli smacks her in the chest then talks through clenched teeth, "stop it." Hope mimics her behind her back making Julie and Mal, who looked over from across the room at just the right time, laugh. "I don't know what you're doing, but Hope, I swear I'll..."

"You'll what?"

Carli straight up growls at her idiot best friend's teasing question and works on getting the equipment ready for the older player to use again because if she's working out she's not getting on her nerves.

Instead of making Carli more frustrated, Hope looks back over at Julie, "actually she's right. Don't call people names."

"You literally just called her a bab-"

"Sonnet."

The younger woman makes a face but drops it not willing to put in the effort to win that battle. And the goalkeeper is just scary. Hope starts her reps and leaves that conversation having gotten the information she needed. Carli keeps a watchful eye on her friend's shoulder area knowing good and well she won't say anything if it shifts or comes out of the socket because she's stupidly stubborn about it.

"Stop glaring into her soul," snaps Car quietly. "You're being a freak again." She quickly grabs the bar on the right side seeing it dip further than the left. "Your arm hurts doesn't it?"
